@darkelf83: oops, ya sorry, patches would still be required across the different consoles..sorry at work and writing when i have time...that other items are still true though...nice catch elf...but cross play definitely makes things cheaper....in the long run, as to do this properly you will likely need a shared architecture, even if the branding wanted to stay independent to the console specific manufacturer. Cloud computing, be it Amazon or Azure with Microsoft will likely be the winner in all this.
@Ravenlore_basic: more people would definitely play, as the two consoles would combine their playerbases...this means less patches, less support across two or three or four different system architectures, which is ultimately cheaper for the developers.
I don't know anyone who doesn't want cross play...most people rip on it because they are defending their console purchase, which is about the most immature and childish thing in the world. It is more an argument for the console war, than anything else.
Think of it this way. If you are a PS4 player and you are playing one of your favorite games, and then that games releases DLC, which you don't buy, ostensibly, that company has just divided its playerbase, which is never good. Now take that idea and apply it to consoles....your games would last years longer if the developer had a bigger pool of people enjoying their product.
@phantom463: i give you exhibit A from my comment above, another corporate protector, who only cares if its good for Sony, but gives no credence to it not being good for the consumer.
Newsflash, Sony doesn't need you to protect their business...worry about yourself...and yourself should want cross play bruh
cant wait to see all the people come in and defend this with the typical....oh but were winning, why would we bother taking in xbox.
Ignoring the fact that it is good for them as well, your games will be supported way longer as there are more players...and most importantly...you dont need to buy another console.
It would also lower the cost of support per game, which means more money to but in more content....i cant understand why everyone isnt asking for this...xbox or ps4 aside...this is good for everyone.
But sadly, this is the age of the internet, so everyone needs to be on a side of an argument, even if it hurts both sides...I would say the vast majority who argue these points are children, who have zero respect for money lol as their parents by all their stuff.
@Mogan: go read again mate...i didn't accuse him of buying a game...he said HE WASNT BUYING this game because it looked the same as the last few...which as you pointed out, is not even true as they changed up a lot about this game...
Also...i would say it is not the norm for sequels to change much in terms of style...they usally just build up the systems that already exist and make the better.
@Mogan: oh I'm sure he buys sequels to something...everyone does...which pretty much renders the argument moot. But maybe I'm wrong, I don't know...lets call it an educated guess.

Devil May Cry is hacking and slashing? lol You never played DMC, or you sucked at it, and it makes sense why you l iked GOW fighting, as its nothing but button mashing. Then you try to talk down to the reviewer when he is obviously right haha.
GOW one of the best games in gaming? lol ok...its good, but i hardly put in the pantheon of great....like TLOU or Dark Souls, or even Batman, when talking about fighting techniques.
