[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"] Once a person picks up a controller and plays a game, guess what, that by definition makes them a gamer. What hardcore games did Nintendo make for the GameCube?dotWithShoes

There's a difference between playing games and being a gamer. A person who runs around the block doesn't make them a track and field runner, see what I mean?

Nice way to avoid the second question. Bravo. A gamer plays games, Doesn't matter if they only play one game a week for an hour or less, they are still a gamer. Now on to your comparison, Person who runs around the block not being a track and field runner.. thats pretty obvious, Track and Field runners normally run on a TRACK, competitively.. Your comparison is pretty weak.

A casual gamer is the people saying it's impossible/hard to aim with a controller in a first person shooter with no aim assist.

Quake 2's level design was amazing for it's time, it's a shame we have no shooters today with amazing level design for their time period either.

Sony isn't sad at all. Once they said "$599" they knew the casuals would leave. They dont care (Sony cares more about how many Blu-ray players are in homes). Plus, Nintendo has a different set of casual gamers - non-gamers. Nintendo doesn't care about hardcore gamers because they have shown this many times. First off they make the Wii super weak, they aren't coming out with many "core" titles (like they did with the GameCube), and then the fact is their marketing is clearly aimed at non-gamers. They don't care about hardcore gamers because they do not need to. They will give the Nintendo fans their Zelda, Mario, and all that jazz but that's it.

LOL anytime a developer says we wanted our game to be easy to get into pick up and play then that means the game is a crappy noob game and i shouldnt waste my time.

dotWithShoes

So you like hard games? Good for you, some people don't. Monopoly is an easy to pick up game, guess that's a crappy noob game. Guess we should let the millions of people who play Monopoly that, would hate for them to not know they are playing a game thats not worth your time sir. You like hard games? Guess you've played and beaten the first Ghostbusters, the first Ninja Gaiden, Double Dragon? Contra(with 3 men), etc..

lol, before i was playing doom/quake/unreal/duke nukem/rise of the triad aka first person shooters hit the market

i was playing games like contra,double dragon,ninja turtles,mario,sonic,,ghouls and ghost all the legendary,pitfall platformer/beat em ups/racers/fighters.

nope a gamer spends time playing the game to find the ins and outs of it.

Glad to know my opinion is wrong and yours is right.

[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"] Sony is very sad that their lover has left them for Nintendo. Casual gamers supported Sony hardcore last two gens. But then again, they supported Nintendo the previous gens. iI believe however, that Nintendo tar]gets all gamers.. just doesn't focus mainly on the elitists who label themselves in the gaming community. What makes you think Nintendo doesn't care about hardcore gamers?dotWithShoes
