LOL nothing beat's a game lobby/text chat i remember back in the quake days on mplayer in the quake lobby there'd be like 300+ people in the lobby chatting and you'd enter the room and say ahahahah i own all you noobs then someone who thinks he can beat you then u fight them 1 vs 1 and kick their ass move to the next noob in the lobby. good ole days lol
i mean psn/xbox live already support text messages, so why not make a text lobby chat standard for all games where everyone logged into same game lobby can shoot the crap talk about crap after a match or set up clan match or place to hang it sure beats having to go to a forum to set up clan matches. damn developers are stupid

Why would anyone want to text chat on consoles? Because it's easier for everyone in the world logged into the same game lobby to text chat at once than voice chat lol less bandwidth lol and everyone would be talking over each other holy crap would be a mess.
