Hello, how are you?

Looking at upgrading my sound.

My TV is a Sony Xe90 and while the image is great, I find the sound to be lacking.

Specially is dialog.

I like to game without subtitles for the added immersion but sometimes the dialog can be really muddy and difficult to understand.

I really have to crank up the volume, but then I find the audio gets too compressed and details start to go away.

So I am looking at a simple solution to improve my gaming experience and immersion and also provide better sound quality for the rare occasions I watch some Netflix.

I am torn between either getting a soundbar like the Samsung ms650 that is a 3.0 system so with its dedicated centre drivers should do a good job at dialog.

And also is supposed to sound good with its individual amped drivers.

Or go with a 2.1 system like the edifier s350db.

I think it can provide better stereo separation and wider Soundstage.

Also, real speakers in speaker enclosures should sound better than speakers tucked in a slim bar. Or the laws of physics should so dictate.

Or another option is forget the assle of setting that up and just get some Sony platinum headsets to game and call it a day.

Anyway, what's your input in this?

Any experience in this matter?

Thank you.

Cheers

PC gaming market is growing thanks to the boom of esports in the Chinese market.

In the traditional sense of AAA gaming and with the current trend in prices when a medium range gpu that the nvidia x70 sku always was costs up of 500 euros... It is bad...

When we reach a market situation where the cost of upgrading a graphics cards costs more than double what a Ps4 pro costs, then I have to say pc gaming is in a bad place in comparison to consoles...

And I said the cost of upgrade, as if I sell a 1080ti to buy a 2080ti the difference in price is double that of a Ps4 pro.

If I just want to straight up buy a 2080ti than I would pay 4 times what a Ps4 pro costs!

Ridiculous!

And what for?

To play the same games just with better frame rate and better graphical post processing?

For any rational person, Nvidia, Intel, ram makers and miners totally killed the pc gaming...

Like someone else would say...

The pc gaming market didn't just die, it was murdered!

Hello, how are you?

500GB ssd is a pretty good price at the moment.

I am wondering if the added performance over the standard 1tb hdd on the pro is worth the trade-off of having half the space...

Is it significantly faster loading games?

And how many of the big AAA games fit on a 500gig drive?

Cheers

For people to whom gaming is a casual hobby, these prices totally kill the pc.

I can no longer recommend pc gaming to my friends.

If you want to buy a 2080ti you spend 1300 euros here.

If you have a 1080ti and are lucky selling it for 550 euros you spend 750 euros just for a gpu upgrade! It's insane! And that is just the gpu!

Ram prices are high, ssd prices are high... And the mining craze can return at any moment.

Next Intel new cpus are said to cost over 600 euros for the 9900k...

And in the meantime a Ps4 pro can be bought new for 350 euros.

That means you can buy a Ps4 pro now and then later in 2019 probably get a ps5 that shouldn't cost more than 500 euros at launch and spend less on two consoles than on a single pc gpu that will be replaced with new tech in a years tops.

The ps5, even if a mid gen refresh comes, should last at least 4 years without needing to upgrade or even think about upgrading.

Sorry, I just had to write this so I could see for myself how ridiculous pc gaming has become with these prices and these market conditions.

I was thinking about upgrading to a 2080ti, but once rationality settled in, I think I might be out of pc gaming...

They only need one masterpiece at launch to carry the system for the first couple of months.

Like Nintendo did with the switch launch and Zelda.

Zelda itself outsold the switch which I find phenomenal!

If Sony manages that kind of launch with the first party muscle they have, they are golden I guess.

Backward compatibility or not.

@ni6htmare01: another times.

Now there are many users that buy their games digitally.

If those purchases are not supported on ps5, people will feel like they lost their money because they don't have the physical games to sell or trade in for ps5 games and have a bunch of digital games they won't be able to use but payed money for.

Psychology, but it would still mean trouble for sony

The point of pc gaming costs is up to you.

Because like I said, most pc games are multiplats that are developed on game engines to run on consoles, all current games will run on a 100 dollar 1050.

If you want more graphical baling, you can spend 700 on a 1080ti for example, but at the end of the day you will be playing the same game.

That's why we need a new console generation. To push game engine development forward!
