trijity has the right idea, configure one at cyberpower or ibuypower. they are great systems and nothing is cheaper. trijity's configuration is good but seriously spring for the geforce 9600gt 512 mb over the 9400 1gb. that will last a lot longer.

@ein: im having a blast with ds1 and worms is definitely a good idea. i tried world of goo but sometimes you need to do things a little too quickly for the touchpad. all the old RPGs you mentioned are amazing, and I just found a site called good old games (GOG.com) that has them for super cheap and downloadable, so the lack of a cd drive isnt an issue. im suddenly really excited for my next boring airplane ride!

Hellgate: London can be bought on amazon for like $3 right now. I'm having a lot of fun with it, I love how I keep getting flashbacks to Diablo 2 while playing it, and it has some of the coolest character classes I've ever played in a game.

I have an eee pc 901 and I was wondering what people are playing on their similar machines, like on an airplane ride or something. I've seen the wiki list with the games that CAN run on eee pc but I want to find some games that work well for the whole package--keeping in mind limitations like the touchpad which is not conducive to fps or the widescreen or the small hdd. Basically, what are some eee-optimized games?

i have the exact same system as you except for my 9600 gt, and i can play crysisat fairly high settings. your comp is definitely good enough and crysis is basically far cry perfected, so i'd go with crysis. plus the mod community will be using that engine for a while, you may get some extra value out of the extra money.
