Past performance is not an indiication of future results. :) I don't think they'll "discount" digital downloads. They'll keep charging $60 for new digital AAA games, and charge $70 or $80 for physical games. That way they get to raise prices, which is what they REALLY, ULTIMATELY want to do (and the real reson behind all the price scamming that goes on) and at the same time soften the blow by not raising prices.
Why are so many people soapboxing here about the end of used games? Did you read the article? It's not going to happen.
What will happen is games on disc will cost more than digital downloads. So if you really must have a physical disc and/or sell the game when you're done, they will accommodate you, it'll just cost $10 - $20 more.
