This is great because you never hear of the 360's that aren't broken. You only hear about the ones that break and everyone assumes that they are crappy hardware.
Mine still works like the day I got it. I guess I just know how to take care of consoles. :D

I am a freak about taking good care of my consoles, and I had 2 360's break on me. First would get disc read errors and freeze, and second would overheat and freeze. So I will not be replacing it for a couple years. I dont mind the wait anyways because all I currently want is mass effect and bioshock, so by then there will be more games for me. For now the ps3 and pc will hold me over.
Have you made sure that it's not in an enclosed area? Stored in a room with temperatures in the low 20s (degrees)? Elevated from any carpeted surface? Made sure that your fan at back has at least 1 metre of clearance? gnutux
I've had mine since June 2006 (although built in April) and it hasn't died on me yet and it doesn't sound like a jet engine. Maybe the launch ones, but not the one that I have! gnutux
Nintendo has always been the brand name for casuals and older gamers. They can associate themselves with the brand name. Why? because Nintendo has the power to influence the masses. There are more casuals than hardcore gamers around the world. It makes perfect business sense to go after the larger market than the smaller market. Plus, videogaming still has that "I'm too lazy" connotation, and Nintendo is dispelling that gaming can also be used as an exercise with the Wiimote (when used through a long period). gnutux
