PST is GMT-?.... Really, wouldn't the internet be a better place if all times were stated in GMT? That way, people who don't live in the US would have an easier time figuring out what time things happen. For example my timezone is GMT+8 so if times were given in GMT, I'd just need to add 8 hours to it and viola, a time thats relevant to me.Luigi_VincetanaPST is GMT -8 gnutux
Fanboys and trolls will always deny it and try to shine a negative light on everything. There's always haters. These are the games PS3 needs to sell consoles, the reason people aren't buying the PS3 right now is because they can't justify the price tag of $600.00 for Resistance and Motorstorm. I myself bought it for the long run.E_x_i_l_eExactly why millions aren't buying the PS3, thus earning its name, the Waitstation 3. I don't think the general public has come to accept buying a $600 electronic to play only 2 games. gnutux
[QUOTE="gnutux"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="gnutux"][QUOTE="True_Gamer_"]Not necessarily. Although the gaming market is huge in numbers, it doesn't generate the same amount of money than professional 3D needs for architects, movie studios (especially movie studios), graphics designers and etc. Those cards are usually just as advanced, if not more advanced than a general public GPUs. It's true that gaming is the thing that pushes the GPU technology. However, even if PC gaming did die, it will dent the GPU industry, but not kill it. Development will slow down back to the days before PC gaming was around, which was when consoles meant gaming and PC meant work. gnutux You mean back to PONG? PC gaming has been around since the second generation of video game consoles. (Atari). Dating all the way back to the Commodore and other PCs mean't soley for gaming. PC gaming dieing would have a profund impact on the future development of technologies for the masses. PC gaming is the main source of income for manufacturers of high end hardware. Every generation console hardware is largely derivative of the advances in the PC hardware market. The fewer people buying GPUs, the less money for research. The less money for research, the less advancements. The less advancements...........well you get it by now. Its like one gigantic piss covered snowball affect waitin to crush both industries. Yes, I did say that it will slow it down. However, it will not KILL the companies as the TC suggested. Gamers have the numbers, but not the cash that corporations have when buying GPU for the professional market. gnutux I didn't necessarily say it would kill both industries either. It would, however, have a profound impact on the future development and distribution of technologies for consoles, not to mention prices. The most plausible outcome is Microsoft subsidizing and beginning to manufacture their own technologies for consoles. If this happens, you can imagine just how much more expensive consoles are going to be to compensate for research and development. Have fun spending 800+ on consoles. Not only that, but Microsoft will own a monopoly, and face more antitrusts while at it ... that would be funny. $800 is still cheaper than what I would be spending to rebuild my rig, but meh. Gaming is an expensive hobby. gnutux90% of GPUs are sold to gamers...Those R600 and G70 that are in the 360 and PS3 are the result of development that was fuelled by PC gaming ethusiasts and PC gamers in general...
The professional GPUs like Quadro etc are pathetic at gaming and dont push the development and progress of hardware since they are sold in bulk to corporations...
So console fanboys beware before wishing the death of PC gaming cause there wont be a R900 G100 to make Xbox3 or PS4...
