I'm waiting for Raving Rabbids 2, the Simpsons Game and Crash of the Titans for the Wii at the moment.

Where did people say that the failure rate was 100% anyways? Last time, the highest I've heard was only as high as 33%.

[QUOTE="_outsida_"]I never said they owned pc gaming but they play a role in both. If you remove them from the current equation you wouldnt have either. Seems to be an issue of semantics. Just seems at tad scewered.CaseyWegner

microsoft makes the operating system that pcs use. that's where their involvement ends. they don't get paid for non-microsoft pc games.

What PC users are confused about is that the term PC really stands for IBM-PC Compatibles. Which is a hardware designation and doesn't mean a computer running Windows.

FPS = ps3 has killzone2, COD4, haze, UT3, xbox360 has UT3, halo 3, COD4 WII has nothing except a wannabe FPS like metroid prime 3

RPG's = ps3 has FF13, white knight story, xbox360 has mass effect, fable 2, wii has absolutely nothing of interest

ACTION/ADVENTURE = ps3 has god of war 3, devil may cry 4, ninja gaiden sigma, MGS4, GTA4 xbox360 has ninja gaiden 2, devil may cry 4, too human, splinter cell 5, GTA4 WII has possibly another rehased zelda game with no voice acting

overall the 2 best genres IMO FPS, and RPG

wii has nothing for those genres, all they have is tired unevolving zelda franchise still with no voice acting....tidus222

Yes and every other consoles this generation are missing a lot of party games, platforms and Anime based games. (Yes, I'm even talking about the X360)

Wow Sony Marketing VP Peter Dille just destroys Microsoft and the 360 in this interview. Quote:

"I don't want to be argumentative, but I take issue with Microsoft either having a long tail, or being profitable, because they've never done either. They've never made a dime in this business," Dille told Gamasutra.

"With the Xbox 360 you've got an inconsistent design, some have a hard drive, some don't, and none of them have Blu-ray, and the HD DVD will be out of business in a matter of months. Is this a 10 year product?"

He continued, "And by the way it doesn't even work. Do they want to be selling it for 10 years and refurbishing them all for 10 more years? I don't think that's a 10 year product. You could disagree with me, or they could disagree with me, but I'd put that up against the PS3 any day."

Yes and this comes from the company that didn't put any customisation options for their product in its wallpaper or anything to let people make their console look the way they want it to look like. This is coming from a console that doesn't let the consumer to choose if they wanted Bluray or not. This is coming from a company that is supporting (and developed) a format that is only winning in the Americas.

I'm not impressed at all by Sony.

Used to stick to the XBOX only, I've became neutral and even picked up a Wii for myself. However, that doesn't mean I will support the PS3 in anyway, shape or form.

Although I play hardcore games, I've got to admit that I disagree with the TC.

The Wii has made it fun for all to come together and play games. Sure, you've got XBOX Live and Playstation Network. Heck, even I have XBOX Live, but the experience is just isn't the same. Sure, the Wii targets more people, but doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad thing. Sure, I wasn't ever a Nintendo fan, nor have I ever played Metroid Prime or Zelda (I've played a bit), I wouldn't really understand "hardcore" Nintendo games.

I've played the Mario series, I've played the Star Fox series and love both even to this day. The Wii is introducing so many people back to gaming or introducing them to gaming because it's such a great revolution with the Wiimote. The Wiimote has the selling point that people love to see which Sony and Microsoft doesn't see.

Plus, in a business point of view, it's of course feasible for them to target the 90% non-gamers and light-gamers than hardcore gamers that only make up 10% of the population.

Fine, that you left Nintendo, but many of us gamers are jumping into the Wii. Fine, maybe the Wii isn't hardcore for you hardcore gamers and that's fine. However, it doesn't mean that Nintendo isn't making the right choices for their business and it's not ruining the industry per se, but expanding it.

1. the PC doesn't count (aka "Console Exclusive") - omg, people. this is system wars...not console wars. it doesn't matter if the pc isn't a console. it's a gaming platform and it counts just as much as any other platform. if a game can legally be played on more than one platform, it's not exclusive. there is no way around this. stop trying to find one. it doesn't matter if you're a console only gamer...your game is still not exclusive just because you don't use a pc for gaming.

2. a higher review score for a multiplatform game automatically means that version is the best. -while this is true much of the time, it's not universal. you guys have to read the actual text of the review. many times they flat out say that a version is better even if it scores lower. standards between systems can be different or a game's score can just plain drop over time simply because it ages.

3.you can tell how good a game will be from screenshots or videos. -wrong. until you have the controller in your hand and are playing the game, you have absolutely no idea how good the game will turn out. system wars has a long history of flopped games because people can't seem to figure this out. stop hyping games based on how they look.

4. a new gaming pc will break your bank and you still have to spend hundreds of dollars on upgrades each year just to be able to play the newest games. -no. this is just something non-pc gamers tell say to demonstrate that they don't really know what they're talking about. very few games are released each year that require a state of the art pc to run. mid range computers can play the majority of pc games just fine and can last years without the need for an upgrade.

5. a game remake is automatically exclusive - no. unless the game is radically different, it's just a different version with some exclusive content. for a timely example, want to argue that the extra content makes it a new exclusive game, (cows, i'm looking at you) why are you starting this now with ng:sigma? what's so different about this one game that makes it exclusive when every single other remake or port with extra features has not been considered exclusive in the past? why was it said that the xbox lost ninja gaiden as an exclusive when sigma was announced if the game is different?

6. resistance is AAA almost everywhere but gamespot. -no. you're wrong. step down and be quiet. -_-

it has an 87% at gamerankings...the site cows love to use when saying that gamespot is biased. while it's true that there are a few more sources that gave the game a AAA score than there are sources that gave it lower, the average still works out to being an 87%. this is not AAA.

7. perfect dark zero was only AAA at gamespot. -no. you're wrong. step down and be quiet. -_-

ten other sources rated it equally or higher than gamespot. it has an 81% average at gamerankings which is .9 lower than the gamespot score. is that difference, less than one point, really enough to make you lose your mind and use the chewbacca defense to say that gamespot is biased/being paid by microsoft? gamespot has flopped more hyped xbox/xbox 360 games than it has hyped gc/wii/ps2/ps3 games combined. -_-

8. nintendo systems are kiddy -no. games for everybody =\= games for kids. just because ninendo consoles tend to have fewer T or M rated games than the competition doesn't mean they're kiddy. they've been home to some of the most violent games ever made. you could call nintendo systems more "kid friendly" than the others but that's about as far as you can go.

and with that, i'm off to lunch.

Until BF2142 runs smooth on my 5 year old machine with a Pentium 4 2.53GHz, 1 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 card, I highly disagree with your #4 statement (which after many computer optimisations and still crappy, an overhaul is required after extensive evaluation). It will cost me at least an XBOX 360 in order for me to make BF2142 run smoothly when I rebuild it with new parts. (Total with tax would be about CA$500, which is already 1 XBOX 360.) This is of course with one of the worst AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor's price in order to drag it this low. The processor itself is not really considered midrange. So PCs do cost a lot if you want a good rig that guarantees excellent framerates at high quality.

The Dreamcast was a great gaming machine. It had cool features and had nice games on it. But unfortunately that didn't help, because it fell off the face of the Earth. Comparing a console now with the Dreamcast could be considered a compliment, but in reality saying that a console is Dreamcasted means that the console had potential but it wasn't good enough. So out of the 3 consoles now which one will have a similar fate of the Dreamcast?

PS3 = They did discontinue the 20 gigs already, it's dead last this gen, and the future doesn't really look good.

Wii = It's white with different controls and lots of accessories.

360 = It is another Peter Moore's baby.

ReverseCycology

Just like the DreamCast, PS3 looks more like it atm. It's powerful, but little consumer acceptance.
