Woohoo! Went to my local Meijer store yesterday (the 5th) and they had it! I can say so far that FE:Awakening is every bit as good as the positive reviews are suggesting. (Not to add insult to injury to anyone who hasn't found a retail copy yet, but seriously, if your Gamestop doesn't have it yet, you might consider checking out a Walmart or some other retail store if you haven't already.)
@Clynol It is a personal preference. In other words, you not liking the Wii remote and nunchuck does not make them stupid.
Many people love the concept and implementation, and it seems to me that the Wii was the best selling console of this past generation for a reason. It has sold roughly 20 million more units than the 360 and the PS3.
@DBZ19 I don't think you quite understood the intent of the article. It was not to bash gimmicks, per say, but primarily to expose the flawed mindset that says a developer must utilize every gimmick that a particular console provides or else the game cannot be made.
@Stonecutters908 Absolutely. It is a downright shame that some developers would choose not to port a game simply because they do not want to bother with the GamePad screen. Seems like laziness to me, in part.
@mpikatellis Contrary to what many people are saying, Nintendo is not going to have to "survive" anything. This is what naysayers have been naysaying since the days of the N64. Nintendo know what it is doing, and they aren't going anywhere for a very long time. I would be more surprised if they didn't outlast Sony and Microsoft in the gaming market.
