it saves a lot of power to use the integrated graphics instead of the built in discrete card when not doing anything graphic intensive...extends battery life like crazy...most laptops feature it now, not sure how to fix the OP problem though :(

a little off topic here, but big ole CRT monitors are technically better, right? they can produce a "true black" that LCD's cannot...but our old CRT monitor was susceptible to burn-in :( still some pretty funny stuff about old tech like that...and yea i did read somewhere that technically CRT with VGA can have an infinite resolution....of course that's just theory and blah blah blah

[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]

It will later, I remember back in 06 recommending q6600 a lot but most people were saying get the e6600 or something similar.Bikouchu35

Thank god I went with q6700 g0 step instead of e8400. However intel has a track record of disappointment with HT but made milestone achievements with core & archy jumps. So if thats the case than Ill wait for ivy bridge to future proof better.

I much rather get a fresh 2500k and oc the crud out of it rather than stuck with lesser speed + ht which I dont use, if it were up to me.

i agree...k-series chips rock

in a year all our money will go much further in computer hardware lol that's the nature of PC parts to begin with, anyway, jumping from the 4xxxx series to the 6xxxx series will be a very nice improvement! if u can squeeze out the extra cash I'd go for a 69xx series card or a gtx 570

nah HDMI is the high def standard right now, xbox 360's, PS3's, bluray players, etc all output HDMI....DVI is popular in the PC community cuz a lot of PC people have their own sound setup using the sound board on their motherboard (the green, pink, blue, etc. female plugins on most motherboards) and don't need built-in speakers on their computer monitors

thanks, i'm definitely looking to get the mx518 mouse so that's a done deal still a little torn on the keyboards...gonna compare them, MS sidewinder vs G110 vs Cyborg v5 as for monitor...i'm really thinking of just waiting and getting the PS3 3d monitor bundle with resistance 3 that comes out this fall
