@gamersince78 @mtb2k hey i hit 32 and now i have 19-22 yr olds flocking to me more than ever. Ya i still got tons of muscle but now i noticed layers of fat covering it up if i dont keep myself on a diet.

Point being turning old doesnt have to be bad, therefore you dont feel old at all.

Nintendo waiting for XB1/PS4 release only to come in a bit after and totally out do them with better specs and amazing exclusives is a sure fire way to win the console wars this generation......but hey its Nintendo. 2019 release of a console with XB1 hardware might be expected.

Looking at my own mini PC build. Cost is around $480. But a mini ITX is twice the size as the alpha, no IR for controller, no wifi card, no Windows, but still totally upgradeable. An alpha isnt really costing that much more money once you start counting the cost of everything the $550 model contains.

$400 for PS4 (maybe XB1) is worth its price despite what PC gamers like to think. Theres a lot more to consider than just a video card and hard drive cost.

My main concern is the standardization. From what ive heard and never seen is that Steam OS is letting you run select games at a more efficient rate. If that is total BS then a console for $400 will last you for a good 8 years of happiness as opposed to a PC build.

I got super excited about the steam machine. Not because I cant build my own but, between the new steam OS and the Alienware OS, and that games really are crazy cheap on steam and after watching just about every game run on high+ with 30fps, and run Windows 8 I got super interested.

But thinking more long term (3-8 years), games on consoles will always run at 30-60fps and look great. But on a steam machine you might have to be run that crap on low just to get 20fps. Console Optimization will trump in the long run and that gaming console you bought about 6 years ago (XB1/PS4) will still be just as amazing as the day you first turned it on...if not more so.

@riotinto876 who are we kidding you know 50% of a PC gamers budget goes to the graphics card.

@iwasgood2u not impressed with this gen either. 360 and PS3 are worth their weight in gold.

So im pretty sure im not alone saying this but one reason why I dont care to own next gen is because I have a ton of games I bought online ( and still havent played) for like $10 and that will last me a while.

If XB1 actually made the 360 titles I purchased playable (unlike PS4) I would pick up a XB1 today.

I think full support for backwards capability should be one of the main things MS should be working on to drive up sales
