Pretty much this. Nothing really substantial for being loyal. Thanks for spending $60 on a game! Here's a worthless avatar picture! It's kind of like how GameStop's new "loyalty" program gives you jack. Thanks for trading in games, here's 10 points. Accumulate 10,000 and you get a Nerf Wii controller holder!

Fable 3's biggest failing is the fact you can't die. There's not much challenge in the game, but it's a beautifully crafted world with lots to do. It's an improvement over Fable 2, but it's not quite as good as Fable 1 was. I really wish Molyneaux would just take the graphics, world and ideas of Fable 3 and put them together with Fable 1's combat and inventory system. That would be a very good Fable game.

MGS4 and GTA4 are the most overrated of this gen. They were both given 10s and barely deserve them at all. MGS4 probably should have been a 9.5 and GTA4 would be lucky to get a 8.5 if it were re-reviewed. Halo: Reach is a tad bit high, but it's still 9.0 territory and it's a phenomenal send-off from Bungie.

Disappointing if you can't make up your own mind and just go with what reviews say.

damn I'm listening to the video review and it's scary how this sounds exactly like Fable 2.

Lack of emotional investment?

No gray area?

Limited combat and overpowered spells?

farting to marry people?

various technical issues?

Tom even says at the end it feels too similar to Fable 2.

Definitely not checking this out in that case.

If the end is like Fable 2's where
you just put the bad guy in a freaking box
I'm going to be so pissed.

If you like Fable, you'll probably like this, right? I wouldn't know. Maybe Peter will be inspired to make something new, now.musicalmac
I suppose if you enjoy the series you'll enjoy III no matter what the review says. I'm liking it and think Fable I was great, but it's no Fable I at the moment -- will be hard to be too.

A 7.5 isn't a solid score?

Some people get too caught up in numbers and have forgotten how to enjoy games for what they are. This is why I've always hated the "lol Gamespot only!" review rule, it's just not logical to think one voice is the say-all on a game and even then, so many other factors contribute to what makes a review score. From reading the review, it sounds like simplified combat and technical errors hurt the score more than anything else, but I have to agree with those.

The Gamespot review only rule only exists to keep a small amount of order within SW. It doesn't say GS reviews are the best.

Makes sense, but it's still logic. In the end, pretty sure GS might have nailed Fable III on the head, but I'm still loving it.

I rarely agree with gamespot. I had already said if this game didnt score higher then the others or less I was not getting it, unless cheap. The other 2 games were not that good, for GS to give it a 7.5 even though I dont agree with them all the time, makes me think this game is crap, seeing how the 8.5 scored games were almost crap. IMO of course :D

I loved Fable I, but hated Fable II. I find it hard to believe Fable III isn't better than Fable II, but review scores are merely scores. At the end of the day it's better to underrate a game than overrate it and when I finish Fable III I'll have a better idea of where it falls.
