@maltnut: Because the English accent is a convention to signal that the character is not American. It would have been also fine if they spoke with an American accent, it's implied that they're speaking French among them.
What would have been weird is if they spoke English with a French accent, it would have made no sense.
@gameboy8877: Wait, what? I thought you were being sarcastic. You DON'T want to play a shooter on a DualSense, but prefer the no-features Xbox controller instead?
No offense, I like it for what it is, but the X-box controller is years behind in terms of features. Also, since Foamstars is inspired by Splatoon it'll most likely support gyro aim.
@mogan: >The irony of these kind of protagonists is that the foreigners who made them took the average American action hero as a model (the Japanese also have this problem).
Which is kind of an asshole, although tempered by mandated corporate PC morality. If you remove the corporate mandated PC morality though, the asshole part is all that's left.
@Atzenkiller: Because they're fake frames. It's like the motion smoothing of your TV (AKA "soap opera effect").
"Digital foundry seems to think it's useful, though I haven't paid that much attention to it since I don't have any hardware/games doing it yet."
Tech reviewers are far too indulgent with this kind of tech, including this article. They shouldn't say "it's 128 frames" without adding any caveat. That's misleading information.
@YukoAsho: I don't see ray tracing going away, it would be like returning to 2D graphics. This is not "fake" RT, like it's in most games today, a full path traced game is night and day compared to a rasterized one.
Sure, nvidia has been fraudulent in pushing the tech when it wasn't ready, and it keeps being fraudulent by advertising fake DLSS3 framerates. But ray tracing will never go away.
@wolfpup7: OLED is better in every way possible, from picture quality to instant response times. The only case I'd prefer an LCD is for computer monitors, due to fear of burning in. In every other case there's no contest, OLED is a completely different technology, it's night and day, it's almost as good as old CRT TVs.
P.S. I won't ever buy a Samsung though, no matter the technology; if we're talking about "cheap" mass consumer brands, stick with Sony and LG.
@chronogos: Exactly, I too have the back buttons attachment for my DS4 and I also find it limiting. I need at least 3 paddles for souls-like games, I did get by with 2 but it's not ideal.
I had the Elite MK1 and while it's nice that they let you remove the paddles at will, they got a bit loose over time (maybe it's because of that mechanism).
