@fedor: Actually AMD confirmed that not to be true. The RX Vega 56 has an MSRP of 399.99. Retailers are price gouging. Low stock and all.. so its expected.
@masscrack: That rumor is not correct. It is selling at 399.99. AMD said they cannot control retailers pricing...And MOST of the GTX 1070's I found on Amazon were well over 500 dollars. I didn't look every where. But even 429 is too much for the 1070.
@PsychicKiller82: I liked the 360 a lot .. I lost interest in the PS2 era with console games. And started playing MMO's in the early 2000's. A friend of mine had the 360 and I played some games with him and I got hooked back into the consoles. However The Xbox One exclusives have been far and few between and underwhelming.. even halo and gears didn't have the same magic. Especially Halo 5.. the sp sucked. MS needs at least 2 new big time IP's.. I am shocked at how poorly MS has done with there exclusives. But I was a bit skeptical when I saw the initial specs of the Xbox One.. I thought it looked weak and it was. 1080P was the norm and they released a console that couldn't hit 1080P for most triple A titles.
@masscrack: Seeing that the GTX 1070 costs over 500 dollars atm.. I am not sure where your coming from. AMD knows retailers are going to charge more than MSRP so AMD is being smart and bumping up the price 100 dollars. AMD is barely making anything off of the RX 56 at 400 dollars. According to Gamers Nexus AMD is losing money on the RX 56 at 399.
@sleepingdawg: Well as of right now most GTX 1070's are OVER 500 dollars! And to be fair AMD Vega 56 is a better performer than the 1070 and cheaper. And when you look at the hardware.. The Vega GPU's beat Nvidia in every single hardware spec and have 5 billion more transistors. I think these Vega GPU's especially the 56 will be a great buy especially if you own a Free Sync monitor. And these tests were very limited, and Vega's Drivers will get atleast 7-12% more performance in the coming months.
@urbanman2004: Yeah its definitely more power hungry than Pascal. There is no question about that. Most people buying cards don't care much about power consumption. The only reason why I care about power consumption is because of the loud fans. But we don't know how this plays out. But Nvidia is clearly got the advantage on power consumption. I love my GTX 1080 its a great card but if I was going to buy a card now I would probably be looking at the Vega 64 for 499.. because its a better future proof card and free sync 2 will be great and its much cheaper than G sync
@ShepardCommandr: Again thats not true, it definitely has higher power consumption but will be faster than a 1080 by quite a bit. And it has newer hardware that should be fully compatible with DX12 so going forward the better buy is Vega over Pascal. I have a GTX 1080 and it sucks with DX 12. Runs DX11 great but more and more games releasing over the next 3 years will be DX12 or Vulcan.
@clay544888: Dude there is no benchmarks yet. No one really has them. We have a couple of slides and 1 leaked benchmark showing that Vega 56 dominating the GTX 1070. There is no info out there yet.
@clay544888: I am not talking about Intel cpu performance, I am talking about there business practices. Do some research and what you will find is pretty ugly..
