@RabidBurp No. You throw them at walls and they break certain walls. Purple Pikmin didn't do that. They stunned enemies and equaled 10 Pikmin. But that's about it. I believe they dealt the most damage as well.
@SecularSage Okay, but I'm not really sure how this has anything to do with me saying Nintendo hasn't pumped out Pikmin titles. The most we've seen is the two ported to the Wii with Wiimote controls (which was quite fitting anyway). But there hasn't been a unique title since 2004. The LBP franchise has had 4 titles since 2008 (not counting ports). And at least 3 core titles since 2008. So I really wouldn't consider it the same argument.
@jenovaschilld Except they haven't "pumped out sequels." This is only the third game since 2001. And the first sequel since 2004. And it doesn't say he wants to recreate Pikmin 1, only bring back what made it great. Personally I enjoyed both games. And Pikmin 3 looked fabulous on the E3 stage.
@SuperSaiyan_187 Just like we don't need Nostradamus to predict there will be another Mario, Elder Scrolls, Pokemon, Assassin's Creed, Halo, Madden, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest., ect.
@endorbr No, you're wrong. The only significant difference between the 3DS and the Vita is their graphical capabilities. And they don't have much in common other than being a handheld? 1. They both play video games. 2. They both offer an online marketplace 3. They both offer online connectivity 4. They both have touch screens They have so much in common, it's not even funny. As I noted before the only significant difference is graphical power. And the 3DS is NOT designed to appeal to a casual market. It's designed to appeal to gamers in general. Games like Shin Megami Tensei IV could very well end up with an M rating if it follows the same trend as SMT 3. I can't see anything suggestting that it's for casual gamers as I have noted there are numerous hardcore titles on the 3DS. Prove your point that it's for casuals. An E to T rating doesn't mean it's for casuals. That just means there are more people who can easily enjoy games. This also allows for an increase in sales. But if you want Sony to be in their own little mature niche for adults, it's obviously not working for them. And I still disagree with your point because I am 22. I'm interested in both the 3DS and the Vita. I also know plenty of people over the age of 20 in possession of a 3DS. Nintendo obviously isn't going to say, "Hey Random Company X could you make mature game Z for our handheld?" If you remember correctly, MadWorld was an M rated game released for the Wii. Also, if the Vita is targeting adults with disposable incomes, why aren't people biting? And there's a difference to what kids and adults enjoy? Somewhat. But I've always enjoyed Mario. Still do. And probably always will. Why? Because I enjoy fun games. And there are a lot of like-minded individuals out there. So even if Sony is somehow floating in this bubble and targeting gamers that Nintendo isn't, it's obvious their methodology isn't working. And while the sales in the 3DS definitely increased after the price drop, it still sold 6 million units before doing so. So at the same price point as the Vita, it STILL moved more units than it.
@endorbr Simple economics. Making money is pretty important, and it seems like a lot of fans of Dishonored would like to see more. So they can make money AND please fans. Whoda thunk it?
