@endorbr How do they appeal to different crowds? They're both handheld devices targeting gamers. You can't even use the argument that the 3DS is for casual games as it has quite a lot of games hardcore gamers play. Maybe not the ones you play, but hardcore games nonetheless. As a gamer who is interested in all kinds of consoles, this doesn't make sense.
And if the Vita isn't competing with Nintendo, then who? Is it just floating in the void? BS. Whether Sony wants to admit it or not, they are in competition with the 3DS. If not for gamers, then for games. And Sony is losing both to Nintendo at this current moment.
So please do enlighten me as to how they're not competing with each other. I'd love to hear it. And what are these different crowds you speak of? Sony fanboys? The general population? Nintendo fanboys? Xbox fanboys? Really. Elaborate.
@endorbr Exactly. And we'll see where the Wii U ends up. But since you bring up the Vita, it hasn't done much since it launched. It might have sold 400,000 in it's first week, but it's only sold like 2 million to date. Almost 1/4 of it's overall sales then came in its initial week of availability.
I'd love to see Nintendo release an older Super Mario Bros. game for cellphone. Like Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, or 3 just to see what kind of impact it has at .99.
