Go for either a Sony, Samsung or Toshiba.....or even a Panasonic. Itll cost you a little more but I guarantee you that the gap in quality is huge.

And if you're looking at a 32 inch then you need'nt bother with 1080p, 1080i will look the same anyway on a TV that size.

Im sure they will in the end. Microsoft may have an endless pool of money, but I see the PS3 outlasting the 360 which I think wont particularly age well. (Microsoft really should have adopted HD-DVD as the standard format)

This is also very true. Europe is very loyal to Sony and unlike in North America, the PS3 in Europe is outselling the 360. It will be nice if Sony repay that loyalty by not treating us like 2nd-class consumers to say the least.

If you put gaming to one side, dont forget that Sony have a huge consumer base on the MP3 market with the WALKMAN, the laptop market with VAIO, and of course the TV market among many other things.

I doubt that one of their very many products is going to be their downfall. SEGA unlike Sony, were only involved in the video games industry so when their main console the Dreamcast performed terribly in sales, the company had to close down their role in hardware production.
