I'd have to say STALKER. Don't get me wrong, I loved that game and finished it multiple times, though it had been in production for what, seven years? During that time they showed screenshots that looked literally photorealistic, the game would have this immense free world etc, in the end it was 'just another game'. A good game, but not spectacular regarding graphics or how immense it was. Also, the Getaway and Stuntman come to mind.

Good call. I remember following the development of this game - Promised to be GTA in London, and they meant all of London perfectly mapped and put onto the game with many places to visits and numerous things to do. When it was finally released it only ended up being what....not even 1/10th of London and everything was closed off, the buildings and landmarks were just dead pixels, there were only a few indoor environments which would not be accessible after certain missions, oh and the cars were so frickin slow and annoying to drive. I did enjoy it a bit though.
I wouldnt say its just on purpose. Game companies can be huge and consist of a large number of stuff - it only takes one of them to accidentally (or perhaps purposely) open their mouth and reveal too much. Or there might be that bitter recently sacked employee who's got nothing to lose and so just spits out everything. Game companies are hardly the illuminati.
I dreamt my football team would lose the final a day before the final, and it came true
Already played Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3 if thats what you're getting at. Not really into fantasy games either, I know im way too fussy :P
I've recently been absent from the gaming world since I've succumbed into WoW, which was basically the only thing I ever played in my free time. However thankfully I've quit the game for good and am looking to go back to some good ol' fashion gaming, casual style. The thing is im very picky with games nowadays and really I get bored and tend to ditch a game very quickly if it doesnt appeal to me very early on.
Now im looking for a game with an excellent storyline - (i.e. deep compelling characters, great twists) and involves a decent amount of exploration and adventure. Im not particularly a fan of the typical point and click adventure games like monkey island and would like a more interactive experience. Admittedly I cant really stand out-dated graphics, but again im not expecting top of the line graphics either, just something acceptable.
My favourite games are Shenmue and KOTOR if that gives some sort of idea.
Thank You!
p.s: I've already played:
Morrowind/Oblivion
Fallout 3
Mass Effect
Fahrenheit
Dreamfall
