Not many knew this, but in the 90s LucasArts studio manage to develop movie tie in games that were very enjoyable. Obviously Starwars and there were Indiana Jones. Other games that the studio sucessfuly published were Monkey Islands, Maniac Mansion, Sam & Max, X Wing, Tie Fighter. And my personal favourite The Dig and Full Throtle. There were many more. If you werent born at the time, let me tell you those were the Golden Era of Gaming. Games were complete, deep story, choices affects gameplay, excellent script. Sure good ol Sound Blaster Sound Card was kind of a rage back then just like graphic cards now. Games by LucasArts studo were all instant classic. Anyway this is my way of saying F U C K YOU DISNEY! You wont ever find a good, dedicated studio / publisher. LucasArt werent even my favourite back then. There were , Sierra, Interplay, Bullfrog, and couple of of them have become Electronic Arses Games and ActiMorons. AGAIN F U C K YOU DISNEY!
It doesnt matter much what graphic engine a game uses, its all done to the talent and creativity of the developers and artists to maximise its full potential. Lazy developers can create a game using the latest engine but finish products will just look previous gen. Rushing out products, competing with other games, impatient publishers, shareholders are just few reasons why graphic engine wont matter. Current Hardwares are ready and able to handle and most even ahead of the many graphic engines but its all down to the artists.
I see this as a prototype for sale for something bigger in the long run. Those research needs funding. Im not sold on this idea. Better i sit on my pc and play it on my huge 3D tv with mouse and keyboard!
