What kind of horseshit is this? Hardcore is supposed to be what Nightmare is. The first playthrough is always the most memorable one. I want to experience the best/most difficult game on my first playthrough. and they've locked it behind beating the game. So dumb.
@hardwenzen: 75% of the games released after RE6 have, in fact, used the new school action formula: RE2make uses new school TPS controls and mobility being "horror" in tone and setting only, RE3make is definitely higher action, Resistance is fast paced and uses the new formula in every sense, including full scale melee combat. So, yes, they have been more like RE6 than the old school games. The only one that wasn't was RE7, but then there was Not a Hero, which most definitely was, so you could say it's more like 85%.
Don't kid YOURself.
Did you just associated tank controls from the 90's as horror controls and NORMAL tps controls as action? You serious? There are no games like the old ones because we're not in the 90's. Camera is a thing now. RE6 sold a lot, but at the same time, was one of the most memed RE games ever created, poorly rated as well. If Capcom thought that sales is all that mattered, RE7 wouldn't have been what it is, and even if they reworked RE2, it would've been much more arcady (simimlar to RE4 and RE5) than what it was in the end. Action/"Arcadiness" has no place with the series. It belongs in Call of Duty, not Resident Evil.
