@Tiwill44: Might be like the Oculus "Time Warp". The game outputs at a lower (usually variable) FPS but the driver, assuming most fast motions are head rotations, sticks the last rendered view into a texture and wraps it in a "QuickTime VR"-like viewer that simulates looking around.
Well to be fair ACIV is probably PORTED to PS4... meaning most game assets (and of course the engine) are the same, so the best they can do is up the resolution of textures a bit...
Really? THAT is what 8+ years worth of hardware advancement have done? Man, it used to be that only 1 year would produce dramatically different results...
I'm not sold on the new "dirty camera lens" effects they are pushing this year... do we want to simulate how things look through a CAMERA or through the EYE? (I guess your eyes could be dirty :) )
I'm tempted to call these bullshots (or bull video)... Or maybe this "demo" was running on a high-end PC and they call it "representative" of the final console product... but we've been deceived before (Killzone 3 anyone?)
The published screens and demo did not exactly scream next-gen so they probably were developing it for current-gen and just upped the resolution to release in next-gen...
