Here's why people think KZ3 looks similar to KZ2(click for 720p)...

Because it does.

Of course, if you closely you can spot some noticeable upgrades. FoV looks adjusted, gun textures are much better, ect.. KZ3 is still in pre-alpha, so it should get better by release. The snow level is just so bland. I like the rusty, acid burn textures, but other than that...bland.

How is the weapon model much improved when Kz2 already had the best weapon models by far aon all platforms?

Gun models covered with blur and depth of field....best models by far across all platforms? You live in a nice fantasy world. Hope you're enjoying yourself.

MGS4 and Halo 3 will IMO will be the only console game this gen to be remembered for a long long time.

Yes these two games taught gamers not to fall for pre-release trailers and expect sub-HD resolutions.

So basically...that's a lot right?

:P

Lol, we all know the Wii and DS print money, this isn't really news IMO.

DS is declining unfortunately atm. Currency exchange is a thorn in their side as well. A $700M + thorn. Been awhile since they've lost money. ($290 million)

360: 41.7M

PS3: 38.1M

Not 4 million, but rather close.

XboximusPrime

If you round it up, 4 million. And yeah, it's extremely close... who knows, the PS3 might actually overtake the 360 in a year or two!

I look at it like this. PS3 has been having rather heavy supply issues this year up until this month (those who deny this are shmucks.) and 360 had no supply issues. 360 was still able to sell more overal and keep its lead, but the lead shrank from a solid 4 million and I think over a bit, to about 3.8 M as of this recording of data. that means PS3 was still able to close the gap a wee bit even with supply issues. now, imagine what the PS3 could potantialy do with its supply at proper levels? Itll be interesting to also see if the redesign 360 and new Arcade sku with 4GB internal flash memory and stave off this potential burst of PS3 sales and further keep the PS3 is a comfortable 3rd place for MS's liking. However, if things keep going at this slow rate, I dont think PS3 can beat out 360 this gen.

Look again at each company's shipments for the year. Less overall.

Not that it cant handle it, but because no-ones taking advantage of the consoles specific features.

ronvalencia

EDRAM has been used for years now.

It's the framebuffer for Xbox 360.

Nobody has thought of unintended tricks or took advantage of the EDRAM in cross platform development in 5 years?

RDR maybe, but GTA4 can be pretty easy to beat graphically, as far as open-world games go, it had fantastic explosions though.

GTA is not pretty easy to beat. That's ridiculous. Where a restricted game like Gran Turismo 5 is clever, GTA 4 doesn't fall back on performance cheats. One of the more accomplished games years later linear or open. Many of the buzz words in linear games can also be found in GTA 4. Ironically, they're still seen as impressive features. Not that I have any issues with a Rage prebaking or an Uncharted if the fidelity is high enough. Or if they're doing 3D like Killzone 3 or particle effects like Crysis 2. Just keep things in perspective. Anyway sporting millions of polygons per frame packed with lots of dynamic light sources and real-time shadows everywhere you look...I'd imagine most games would have their work cut out. Even after games like RDR, have the luxury of being set in the wild west....not having helicopters to fly and no vertical play to consider. Or even after games like Infamous cull and place buildings purposely to limit draw distance. Lack a dynamic light cycle.

....no, just no. GTA4 looks borderline last gen, and it looked horrendous during all moments, no matter what its accomplishing. Infamous 2 has much, muchbetter texturing, lighting, Anti aliasingcharacter models, shadowing, physics, animations, frame rate, particle effects, etc. Infamous and GTA4 arent comparible graphically, because Infamous 2 looks leagues ahead of GTA4, and most games already look much better than it graphically.

RDR actually looks good, a change for R*, though Infamous 2 still has much better textures,Anti aliasing, lighting, shadowing, particle effects, physics, character models, frame rate, animations, etc.

You clearly have a warped sense of what a graphically impressive game is if you're suggesting GTA 4 isn't comparable or last-gen, but perhaps more importantly you're confusing graphics tech with general. GTA 4 is simply a more dense, dynamic, complex and vertical world. This extends from it's dynamic 24hr light to the amount of objects being rendered to the water sporting realtime refractions along with reflections, being deformable, and being 3D. I'd imagine a game that doesn't do half as much resorting to a lot of culling and quarter res transparencies would have a tough time.

Remember Halo coming with Crackdown doesn't count. =P

Infamous was was AAA. Crackdown here was AE. Infamous 2 will follow suit.

[QUOTE="heybooboo19"][QUOTE="Brainhunter"]Is it safe to say that this is turning out to be the most graphically impressive sandbox console title this gen? I mean, going by the trailer, it looks like there is partial destructibility, great draw distance, AA (omg AA on the PS3? o.O), and a according to a recent Sucker Punch interview, a reported 60 frames per second fluidity by launch day.FIipMode

Probably not. GTA and RDR would be tough to beat.
