@blueboxdoctor you kind of prove his point. hes not saying that violence is for kids, hes stating that adolescence are prone to be entertained by short sighted violent games. and developers play on that and create an entire market pointed directly at that audience. not one game you mentioned is without violence. mature content doesn't need to be violent, sexual in nature, taboo or pushing boundaries to invoke deep mature complex thought. most children aren't prone to reading philosophy because they likely don't understand enough of human nature, pattern, interaction and philo in general to understand the concepts behind the written thoughts, those ideas that take years to transpire, to me those are mature thoughts and ideas, not running around and blowing each others heads off. personally id like to play a good adventure game with no human on human violence. and to your second point, we have just been developing the same games over and over again with slightly better graphics everytime. when was the last time a new genre was created outside of interweb social media games. over saturation such as todays rpg and fps market are inevitable in an age where no new ideas are allowed to fail and flourish.
@lewishim666 first off comments like that aren't needed. play nice, intelligent people don't insult each other. secondly not true at all. this might sound like semantics argument but complaining is just another word for iteration. we as the consumer and day one fans deserve to be heard. nothing is blasphemy, these companies aren't gods and they need to listen to the people who support them or they can say good bye to all those loyal fans. and 3 examples that "complaining" works are Dark souls prepare to die edition coming to pc. that was done by fans petitioning, secondly bioware going back to the drawing board because people were disappointed with the ending. lastly The last story was brought to the us because once again fans/ consumers spoke up. hell even look at capcom eating there words about on disk dlc. once again because people spoke up. you have a voice use it.
@SY_shoot shouldn't that be a good thing then? if you were disappointed seeing the contents now wouldn't you be even more disappointed if you just payed 99.99 plus tax and found the same content out of box? Face to palm.
@LewisMweiR hell i think a lot of people are running to pc anyways. they are finally affordable and better quality experience than console. more user functionality.
@Snaptrap you can buy used games on pc its a small market but just go on amazon and look at the amount of used pc titles. its just the same as downloading and/or installing the same client you purchased on one comp then upgrading to a new comp and reinstalling it on the new machine. yeah if your using one it makes the other inert. and vice a versa. i do it with games all the time on multiple machines since i cant physically play them both at the same time but may have one machine and not the other.
Honestly ive been saying for a while now that games need to progress even when i fail a scenario, i hate retrying a section over and over just so i can progress the story. if i fail let me see the outcome of that. let me as the gamer have a sense of responsibility in the over all game. basically im glad that some one on this dev team at treyarch has and understands that idea. Im not against call of duty by any means im against a lack of innovation. hell i loved cod 4 and mw but it just started to get rehashed, if this has well executed innovation then hell yeah ill go back to buying cod games.
