every game I've installed in Vista has ran great, even older games like GTA3 and Duke Nukem - Manhattan Project disable the UAC (User Account Control) before the install, it might help
that thing is pricy, but if you want to play games that are already out, you'll need more RAM(add a gig to that 256 and you'll be good) and a much better videocard (and probably a new PSU, I don't know how many watts the stock one is)
