1280x720 is the native resolution for the 360, and right now if you play in any other res the image will just be stretched to fit, so I'd say go with 720, not only because it's the native res, but because then you can play Xbox games in "HD" aswell, who knows, when the "True HD"(native 1920x1080 AKA 1080P) games start to come out they might support more resolution without stretching them if I was wrong about anything, let me know
these are some games you should be able to play with your set up Red Faction Return to Castle Wolfenstein Morrowind GTA3 (only on low settings) Half-Life CS 1.6 UT2K3 FarCry (you can play it, but you should wait tell you have more RAM, 256MB is the minimum)
Is it just me of am I regretting dumping $400+ for a machine to set in my entertainment center and look pretty? Granted, Ive played most of the decent titles such as Gears, Crackdown, Dead rising, etc however, these games are quite short in nature. The only game in my humble opinion that was engaging was Oblivion and I definitely did not need a 360 to play that one. Just wanted to vent a little while Im setting here staring at my 360...oops i mean dvd player because thats all the usage im getting outn if it until some good games come out in the forthcoming year or three!!!! Thank god Dell makes XPS 700s and theres never a lack of PC gaming!
P.S. Im REALLY glad i did not get a PS3... even less titles to choose from

It seems like you are really a single player kinda guy... A lot of the games out for all the systems now days have for the most part short single players because they send all of the focus towards online multiplayer gaming. That is exactly where the market for games is going at the moment.
I know what you're saying, I get sick of games on one platform and go to another often, but with me I go to the 360 or my Dreamcast when I'm sick of the PC games I have, and I enjoy SP games more then MP, so not to many games out on 360 that have a good SP to hold me( I have Oblivion on PC), just wait for Mass Effect and Halo3
The Xbox 180 is what Sony called the 360 back when it launched, They said it to try and keep PS2 owners from buying a 360 and to wait for the PS3, this happened not THAT long ago so some of you should still remember this.
