You are missing the point completely....

It didn't have great ai in the first one, yet it didn't effect the outcome of the final score.

Now compare it to other reviewer methods.

W3,not the greatest combat, riddled with bugs that are still being fixed today. Frame rate problems. Still a 10.

I'd bet that mgsv will have bugs, and possibly even crash, still a 10.

Journey did absolutely nothing but polish and it went up a point.

Now how did those games get a free pass for their small issues but gears takes a 2.6 drop. It redid everything, but it didn't see a score boost for that like journey did. He mentioned that gameplay mechanics felt better, yet it got nothing.

Those 2 little cons don't justify a 2.6 drop.

@RTUUMM: the ai hasn't changed, and he said 5 times he had to restart. That's not really an issue that can't be worked out with a quick patch, it being a remaster makes no difference.

Using other reviewer methods, that doesn't equal a 2.6 point drop. I guarantee we will be getting articles about mgsv bugs as we did with the witcher, yet it had no impact on the score.

Just because it happened to RE4 doesn't mean I agree. A remaster should really only be judged by the quality of the remaster, not the game. I would agree with s seperate review system fit remaster that basically just say if it's a good fair or bad remaster, based on quality.

However, gears plays as well if not better than most 3rd person cover based shooters today. I imagine the remaster is even better. Re4 however, is definitely outdated as far as gameplay.

Not really understanding that. You don't score a game by comparing it to others even in it's own series.

He only named a negative of ai and mentioned a few bugs...hardly see that being worthy of nearly reducing 3 poins of a GOTY winner.
