@jekadu: There isn't a single comment here justifying leaks.

I know quite a few people who've worked on major games in the past and they all hate the unessesary secrecy the industry demands.

Try putting yourself in the shoes of people who have to work on games for years and aren't legally allowed to tell anyone what they're working on. It's not like that in any other industry.

If you're cancelling games because it hurts your feelings that you can't control how and when your project is revealed, you shouldn't have a prominent position at any company.

Even Jason Schreier came out and said that the game wasn't cancelled because of leaks. Gamespot chose to ignore this even though he has a pretty spotless track record of actually doing the journalism before he posts something.

@hosedandhappy: Old comment is old, but… you have low standards, if you consider one year and four months a good run.

It's way longer than most games get. If you're playing an online-focused game that isn't a known IP and/or from a AAAA studio, you can't expect it to thrive for more than a couple of months. They're made by small studios looking to make a cool game, and they succeeded. They're made with a smaller scope and are priced accordingly.

And that is perfectly fine. I got more bang for my buck from Evil Dead and TCM than I do for most games. How long do you expect them to go for?

This is a ridiculous article. The game wasn't cancelled because it was leaked.

I guess it's par for the course with the garbage hell hole the Internet is in 2024. Some dude makes a ridiculous statement. Maybe we should look into that clearly absurd statement and see if we can find another source for that. Nah, that sounds like work. Just post the nonsense for the clicks.

Sony also didn't cancel a Days Gone sequel. Sony had no interest in ever making a sequel. Bend came up with an idea of what they could improve in a sequel, but Sony never gave the go-ahead to actually start work on it.

@mogan: It's actually a great deal if you're on top of turning off recurring billing. It's basically bringing back renting games. $20 to have their new games for a month is perfect. It's really just the FOMO of having to pay to replay it, but how often do people actually replay games that aren't all-time greats in this era of infinite new games? The new Prince of Persia is fantastic and a steal for 20 bucks. Never going to need to replay it.

@jenovaschilld: It's not a math formula. Drugs don't magically give anyone who takes them the ability to create great works of art, but they can free the creativity already present in the artist.

@jenovaschilld: King's not a great example for that argument though. He can say that addiction didn't fuel his creativity, but the majority of his iconic works were written while he was addicted.

And a lot of the most recognizable art ever created was created by artists with know addiction issues. I understand it's not something to promote, but it's definitely not a myth.

The Evil Dead remake is vastly underrated. It's one of the greatest horror movies ever. Period. It's just overlooked because it's an impossible task to remake a Sam Raimi movie without being Sam Raimi. Evil Dead 2 should also be on the list since it was basically a remake with a budget.

@rekonym: You weren't online in the 90s. You have no idea what people outside of your school were talking about. I heard plenty of fierce debates over the Disney games and sports games.

I'm definitely not a fan of Punk and think he's a garbage person, I think he should work in WWE. It was never going to work in AEW because he was a big fish in a small pond. His ego put him so far above everyone, he took everything personally because he felt people were trying to cash in off of him. Now, he's just another shark in a pool full of sharks.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Rollins says something about him that he takes personally.
