My first games were. Super Mario World, Zelda OOT, Doom, F22 lightning 2, Ummmm, Super Mario 64. Spyro, Tekken 3, Tony Hawks pro skater 2.

I've never been into casual gaming.

Since when is Mario and Zelda not casual?

Since the franchises were born. They are a lot more dedicated than games like Halo and Gears. Remeber children, a game doesn't need guns and blood to be good.

Since when does casual = not good? Maybe you should be calling the person who had OOT as one of there first games a "kid" , not someone who has likely been gaming longer then you have been alive.

First of all Imis phrased that, I meant non-hardcore. Second, I didn't call anyone a kid it was a general statment, that and I don't particulaly care how long you've been gaming, remember the Fountin? Yea that was my first console

Halo sucks, by gears is awesome.

Sure you can port to the Wii. Look at RE4/Spore/RRR the Wii is super easy to develop for and like the ps2 before it, it has the cheapest dev kits meaning developers than don't have near unlimited bank can quickly and easily develop for it. The already installed fan base is quite large, large enough to warrent spin off series already and the system is powerful enough to run decent games. PLUS Ninty as a software dev company are the best in the buisness.

Hardcore gaming died in the PS1 / N64 era.
But this is just as fun.

Harcore gaming died with the SNES.

[QUOTE="whocares4peace"]And yet the Wii is dead last in games.whocares4peace

2 AAAE's > 0 AAAE's

4AAAEs>2AAAEs

Thats not even the point, the Wii has the weakest game library, the lowest number of AAs and AAAs of any system out yet.

Considering the ps3 has 0 AAAes I'd say the Wiis doing ok. Besides, it's not like the ps2 had an amazing game lineup in it's first year.

How does the number of AAAEs matter? The number of overall AAA and AAs matters much more.

Can Ps3 owners not play other multiplatform games like COD4,Rock Band and Assasins Creed just because its no the 360 as well?

As for the ps2, in its 1st American year, it had MGS2,GTA3,GT3 and DMC.Not exactly a bad year, was it?

Oh wow MGS2 and GTA3. SMG, TP, MP3, RRR, and Paper Mario isnt' a bad year either. What I don't understand is why anyone but the blindest of fanboys would buy a PS3 unless it's for the exclusives. The multiplats are not only better on 360 but they usually come out first on the 360, not to mention all that extra downloadable content.

Look at the ps2 librarynow and you'll see the kind ofthing the Wii library will be eventually. A whole lot of absolutepoo mixed in with afew gems.

of course it's destroying gaming

the more casual it gets the more games will have to be dumbed down

mistervengeance

It's already been dumbed down alot. Compare Castlevania 1/3 to it's contemporaries (2d only). The younger gamer crowd (Who are incidently the ones who call them selves "Hardcore") have necessitated a drop in the difficulty level in games, quite a shame if you ask me.
