The RAM on a console is shared between the CPU and the GPU, that's how they get such an efficient architecture. Thus, even without the OS RAM munch on a PC the total is still FAR above the consoles capablility.

I'm fairly sure developers don't program an application to specificly use virtual ram for a certain function. Usually on a PC vr is used when the OS is taking up to much RAM for an application to function properly. In order for a game to utilize VR for a specific purpose, they would have to alter lower levels of the engine, those dealing with interfacing with devices. Besides, a PC's GPU has it's own dedicated RAM, ontop of the onboard RAM.

I don't really see the viablility of running crysis on a console without significantly narrowing the gameplay. Adding set borders for your movement not because of the story, but because the console couldn't handle the entire enviroment at one time.

Fail

Ratchet and Clank is not far off from galaxy and Uncharted may turn out to be the best game this gen.

Mario Galaxy is going to go down to about 93/94% on Gamerankings when it's all said in done(in a couple weeks).

Mass Effect will end up with around 90%.

Ratchet and Clank is going to be about 90%.

Uncharted will be at around 92%.

Out_Kast3000

R&C is a good game, but it's no where near the calibur of galaxy. That's like saying bejewled is not far off tetris.

Calibur as in how much it will sale? Obviously it isn't, mario is like most popular series in video gaming.

But as far as quality goes Ratchet and Clank is not far off.

Sims is the most popular series in video gaming. The quality of a first party Ninty game is what all other developers should weight their games against. I love jak and R&C but reality is, both are just run of the mill platformers. They cannot compare to galaxy.

According to one of the gamers here at work, he spend 4 hours on the cemo mission of COD4 alone. He said it's kinda like crysis how you can apporach a situation from all different angles and use different methods.

who the hell says killing aint fun? that shooting isnt fun? have you ever even held a gun in your precious little life? Do you know what it's like to go deer hunting and getting the ace shot you intended? Have you ever smelt and seen death right in the eyes of another being while their soul was slowly moving into the afterlife? Have you ever felt someones blood run cold.

The fact that I can now experience everything I just said in a videogame is awesome. and Wii is for BABIEs, not preteens.
TurninTricks

LAMO. You can't be serious. Look kid, I've been hunting stagand boar for years,I still frequent the small bore range and have an average of 91. And ya know what, I love my Wii. Hell I still play Mario64 and SMB3. I even like Animal Crossing. Killing in a video game doesn't make you cool.

Oh and for petes sake, it's a firearm not a gun. A gun is a large calibur weapon found on vehicles and ships.
