Sure, with massive graphical downgrades to get there. This console will never hope to run games at maximum settings at native 4K like a PC could, but just slap a "runs in 4K!" sticker on it and let the idiots who don't even own a 4K display flock to buy 15 of em.

If $400 for a console that's still capable of 4K streaming, 4K gaming (in the least full 1080p 60fps across any game), HDR, higher VR fidelity, higher stream/capture quality, faster connection speeds, more ports, among other improved features doesn't tickle your fancy all because they didn't include your precious $90 4K blu-ray player for all of your 1 4K movie needs, maybe don't buy a console to watch movies in the first place. Apparently the word "game" in "home video-game console" means nothing in today's age.

@grayyfoxx: Except the Scorpio isn't a new generation either - it is literally running all of the same software, just more powerful (like the Pro to the PS4)

@jdeamaral: Was unaware that playing games and streaming video on my 4K TV at actual 4K instead of upscaled 900p was a bad thing.

@strothers101: Did you seriously expect the console to run ME:A at 4K 60fps? Do you expect the Scorpio to do that? Because you're in for a rude awakening... Shoot, the $600 9Tflop GTX 1080 still only runs AAA games at an average of 30fps at 4K. 60fps at 4K is still out of reach financially for most consumers, ESPECIALLY the console market - where people are making a huge deal out of a console like this costing as little as it does for all that it offers. You think those people would be okay with spending $900+ on a 60fps 4K console? Hell no.

@strothers101: What's funny is any games optimized for both Pro and Scorpio will run exactly the same on both consoles. Buying either one will boast the same performance, same graphical fidelity, same everything. There is nothing wrong with your wanting to go to the Scorpio, and on paper it is the more powerful piece of hardware, but in practice, I 100% am telling you, you will find 0 difference in any aspect of gameplay, unless the game is a first party exclusive/not available on the other platform. These companies don't have the time or patience to optimize for the XONE/PS4, PC, and Pro as well as Scorpio all separately, among optimizing for both 4K and non 4K displays..

@louixiii: Hmmmmm, maybe they don't have a 4K TV, maybe they don't care about 4K gaming or streaming, maybe they want something with more compact design, maybe they don't want to actually spend that extra $100, maybe they don't want PSVR, maybe they just want to play a couple games with friends and not be bothered with all the extra bells and whistles, maybe they're buying it for a friend/loved one/just buying it to stream regular Netflix, sports, or movies, or blu-rays because their TV isn't "smart" enough, maybe not everyone in the world is as into powerful platforms and flexing their nerdiness as you or me. There is a market for those consoles, clearly you're not part of it.
