Why would anyone buy a console this gen instead of a PC?

You may be thinking that it is much more expensive. And it is upfront, but after a while all the value comes in the PC.

Suppose you buy the Alienware 14, which starts at $1200 (the PC I use for gaming costs $650 from www.dell.com, but I have to turn the graphics down, which is okay for me, but many people may not like it). $1200? Expensive, right? Not that much.

For starters, there is actual productivity. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

You get different control choices - mouse and keyboard, controller...

Games on Steam are cheaper (I have only heard of this, I don't BUY games from Steam)

How to sell a game console in:

USA - Make a bunch of crappy generic First-Person Shooters

Japan: Make some dull and boring RPG's in which all you do is move from cutscene to cutscene and "fight".

Europe: Anything remotely related to football (soccer)
