Yeah we need to know your budget. If you're looking for a cheap phone, you really can't go wrong with any of the Sony Ericsson's. If you're looking for something high end then I would recommend the AT&T Tilt.

Nope. The Middle East does not have the infrastructure, training, technology or economy to ever take on the US, united or not.
They don't even have the will - since no one really likes each other.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE have more than enough money. Their technology is very advanced, have you ever been to Dubai?
One thing you said is true though, they don't have the will, they can't seem to agree on what is right for their country.
