@visionedorange I don't have the game and even though I think it's bad I still think I'm going to get it someday. Anyway I think gamespot covered a lot of the things about the game since it didn't have only the review, but also a podcast were 3-4 guys who review for other sites were invited and discussed a lot of things about the game to make sure people knew the reason of the low score, so ppl who don't have the game are very informed and I think some people defend the game just because they spent money on it.
@BryanParksSuper They are, but they still get a lot of money from playing (and winning) at videogames all day long (which may be seen as a good or bad thing actually).
I stand with the idea that the pieces look too much alike, they should have added at least different coulors or patterns, instead we have all metallic/futuristic looking pieces. I think that not only it makes all the maps look alike, but you also get a sense of disorientation since you see the same coulors everywere. Other than that most of the features they added are pretty useful and it's obvious that maps are now way more easy to make.
I've been a fan of map making since quite some time, some of my works on trials evolution are still top downloaded, and I enjoyed making some maps back in halo 3 and reach. But the problem with their forge editor is: it doesn't have an "undo" feature, all pieces look the same (and as a result most user maps look alike) you can't customize an item's look and there are no "rules" that you can apply to how items interact, but just place a bunch of stuff here and there. The biggest problem though is that sharing maps in halo really sucks, you might spend hours to create a map just to have nobody playing it and their "top downloads" system works without a rating system, so maps that have like naked chicks pictures in them will always be at the top despite being good and the only people who are able to see your creations out of the top downloads are your friends. They should have a playlist just for custom maps and at the beginning you download them (their size is just a few kb) and then you play them with other people online and at the end everyone has to rate the map. The system now is just stupid IMHO.
How do I download the podcast using a downloader manager as Jdownloader ? The link is strange and it can't be processed. I'm asking because I can download much faster using a manager and my connection is only 1.5M.
It's the first time that I took some time to listen to a GS podcast, I listened for 40' and I'll probably listen to the rest on my mp3. Good show ;) P.s: for Alan Wake I personally would have chosen "children of the elder god" 'cause it's just kickass but also a lot of the rock songs are done by this same band and the singer is the same, so I was quite surprised when nobody guessed it
I think the season pass for a rockstar game is pointless, they'll nver be able to publish content at the same rate you would expect from a company like activision or EA
