I was looking at it the other way. a cheap blu-ray is like 200 bucks. why not pay another 100 and be able to lay in bed and play sometimes too. not to mention i would get another remote. my son dropped one in the toilet and another the left joystick doesnt work right. so i would be up to about 250 for a blu-ray player and new controller. plus my 60gig is 3 years old. im sure it wont last forever.

Oh yeah the power switch in the back. forgot about that haha. that kinda sucks though. i have 5 kids so by the time i even find the controller i might be too tired to walk over and turn it on.

Im thinking of getting a slim to use mostly as a blu-ray player in my bedroom but starting thinking, if i hit the ps button on the controller in there will the ps3 in the living room come on too? See that would suck because the one in the living room is in a cabinet and i have to have the fan on the cabinet turned on or it will over heat, and if i burned up my 60gig i would have a bunch of useless ps2 games ha. oh and i already know that the controller will work on the one in the living room from the bedroom. so can you program it to not turn on by every remote?

Yeah its most likely the fan. the hotter the ps3 gets the faster the fans turn, which would be why u notice it more after playing for awhile. cleaning might help but also make sure u haveyour ps3in an open space where it gets plenty of cool air.

mine did the same thing when i bought it. that was at lauch though so i dont remember all to well what i did. i do remember that i had to reset it. u have to hold down the power button until it beeps a few times. if u still dont see anything after doing that, then i am guessing u are using cables that didnt come with the ps3. hookup the ones that came with it so u can go to settings and set it up for the kind u want to use.

first thing i would do is try some other games... if its just one game then there u go problem solved. second i wouldnt buy computer speakers and put them on a ps3. u can get a 5.1 home theater in a box for 2-300 bucks ez. or spend a little more and get something nice. personally i have a 7.1 onkyo setup that i think i paid 499 for. u can adjust all the speaker levels individually so even in my living room which is 25' by 20', all back four speakers fill in the sound great. and the sub is great too.

i would say oblivion hands down. i never really got into fallout like i did oblivion. felt like in fallout all i was doin was going where the story line told me and shooting things in the head. fun at first but not for 100 hours like oblivoin. and i didnt like how fallout would just stack debris and stuff in the middle of the road so u could only go one way. not very open world. guns were great though of course.
