I can see this being true ..... but it will be at the expense of the 3DS. Households with multiple systems would be realized a lot quicker if you could buy the game once and install it on 2-3 systems.
" ummmmm............since I bought BoTW along with the Switch and no other decent games have released since launch, it was either Mario Kart 8 or 1-2-Switch......so.....ummmmm...... yeah, I am sure there are a lot of copies sold .... "
@superklyph K.....thanks. So can we expect a story on Best Buy selling their 3 systems? And another story on Walmart selling their 3? How about a story about Target selling their 3? Wait...... I have an idea for a GREAT story........ how about a story about Sam's Club selling THEIR 3 systems? That should be an interesting read.....
@fig56 Gosh....after your comment I went back and re-read this article 3 more times and STILL can't find a mention of Best Buy, Walmart, Target or Sam's Club. Guess I will need to read it a few more times to figure out what your statement has to do with this article.......
@joshrmeyer I wouldn't say "fake" in that since this "news" story is so short of details and numbers that Nintendo could have sent 10 units by plane and it would still qualify as truthful by today's journalistic standards. Kind of like certain video game stores bragging about selling out of Switch units quickly when, in fact, they only get about 3 in at a time. Still not a lie.....but not the whole truth.
@spartanx169x I know I plan on buying one after Mario comes out at the end of the year. Availability should be high by then. My comment was simply that Gamespot talks like each store is moving 100 units at a time when they announce they are getting stock....but each store on average only gets 3-6 units. That is EASY to sell out and hardly news worthy.
" .... he said the Classic Edition was only intended as "a product for last holiday,"
This is about the only truthful thing Nintendo has said about the NES Classic shortage. It was indeed only intended as a product for last holiday ....... last holiday when Nintendo was dead in the water with a console that had been in a coma for over a year and no big games at all to offer. So what do they do? Announce this awesome little thing in June and under bake them at the expense of their customers to create yet another shortage and stay relevant during the holiday season. You have to give Nintendo a 10 in marketing and a 2 in customer service.
