Lies......lies......lies. Any chimp with access to the internet could see that demand for the NES Classic was extremely high and with the simple chipset it uses production could be ramped up in a matter of days. Nintendo......in true Nintendo fashion....PURPOSELY undershipped the NES Classic so they would have at least SOME relevancy in the holiday shopping season since the Wii U has been dead for months now. Things like this has me hoping for a Switch failure of Wii U proportions so Nintendo will have to go the way of Sega and forget hardware to just put their software on other worthy units.
Does Nintendo's terrible launch track record not concern these software companies or are they just hedging their bets? If the Switch releases like the Classic NES or recent 3DS, it will take 3 years to reach a 2mil install base.
About the only Nintendo hardware deal that would be worth a crap during this dark time at Nintendo is buy a Wii U for $60 and get a free Classic NES Edition free.....but since Nintendo only produced about 634 of the Classic NES that seems highly improbable.
Lets see.....what percentage of gamers are interested in purchasing a Pokemon game and what percentage are interested in buying the retro console. LETS SHIP 10,000,000 POKEMON !!!!!!
@computernoise: Agree. I have been a fanboy for 30 years ....bought every system. Think I will forgo the Switch and pick up a PS4 bundle for Christmas.
What is up with Nintendo? They can't even launch a retro system with a 1992 chipset correctly. It's like they are the new kids in the industry without a clue of what they are doing. Hang it up and just develop software, already.
