My answer to this question is kinda yes and kinda no. I still have all my figures from when I was a kid (TMNT, Star Wars, Transformers, and M.U.S.C.L.E.), but they're all stored away in boxes. I have no desire to display them, but I couldn't possibly get rid of them either.

I also collected the Star Wars figures from the 90's. Again, they're all stored away, still in their boxes, probably never to come out again.

Recently, in just the past few weeks, one of my friends has gotten me into playing a miniatures tabletop game called Mordheim. It's an offshoot of Warhammer, both by Games Workshop. I've purchased some wood elves to make up my warband. While the miniatures aren't exactly "action figures", I'd say it probably still counts.

I haven't painted them yet, they've only been primed, but I still think they look pretty cool.

TurboGraphx 16 mijahi

That's the next system I really want to get. But I haven't even seen one since they were current.

Here is my setup. First, our 42 inch 1080p flatscreen in the living room. A PS3 Slim is on the left of the TV, hooked up via HDMI. The Wii is on the right, hooked up by composite video cables. You can just barely see our Wii Balance Board hiding under the entertainment center.

family

Next is the office TV, with an N64, SNES, GameCube and Dreamcast. The top shelf has a leapster for the kids (although they actually play Mario Galaxy and Burnout Paradise more often), DirectTV box, and a 4-way AV switch for the consoles. Note the cables to the bottom right hiding behind the TV stand; they are detailed in the next picture.

office

Here are the power cords for the four consoles above. I leave them unplugged until I want to use them in order to save on energy. Each cord is labled to prevent confusion. Of course they're typically tucked away behind the TV stand next to the power strip. Note the cloth bin in the top left of the image, it's in the next pic.

cords

I have four cloth bins next to the TV in the office to store controllers, cables and systems I don't currently have set up. I pulled a few out of the bins just for the picture. The Genesis, Saturn, and two out-of-picture NES systems are hooked up via RF so they aren't compatible with the AV switch which does component video only. I don't have any room in the TV stand anyway. I hook them up on the fly when I want to play them. (The Game Gear was purchased at Goodwill recently for $12; it also came with Sonic 2.)

bins

Below is the master bedroom TV. An NTSC PS2 and Japanese PS2 sit next to each other although neither are currently plugged in; I haven't been playing much PS2 lately. I'll probably get another AV switch for this TV pretty soon and hook up the PS2s and a few other of my spare systems.

mb

I hope you enjoyed this tour!

that's very true... for all we know they are all illegal ways of game having that begins with an r and ends with an m ... or disc/cart only and all scratched up... waflerevolution

Funny you should mention that, here's one for the too-good-to-be-true files:

A few weeks back I saw a craigslist post where someone was selling "94 Dreamcast games for $75". I about jumped out of my chair for the phone when I saw that. (Especially considering that I'm only just now starting to collect DC titles.) I call the guy up and they're all CDR copies. F that. I had to sulk in my own shattered hopes for about an hour after that realization.

Give me a sealed copy of Plok of SNES, so I can feel that old school plastic wrap under my fingers as I rip it off and expose the crisp untouched Nintendo Power Fun Club Card inside, sliding out that whote cardboard case to see an untouched and unused grey SNES cartridge covered in that plastic poly bag with an proper SNES plastic cover over the bottom of the game and an instruction book that cracks the first time you open it.

I need to take a cold shower after reading that...

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles . Wii . New . GameStop . $50undergroundfrog

Awesome! Did you get the preorder shirt? (I did and it is now my favorite shirt ... ever.)

Well, tonight I finally had a successful transaction from Craigslist. gmsnpr

Sweetness. Glad to hear it. :)

Nice set of games too. I got a Saturn from Goodwill recently but still have zero games for it. For all I know, the thing may not even work.

------------------------------------

Alright, here are some recent acquisitions for myself:

GameStop:

Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner (PSP) - used, complete, $10
Phantom Brave (PS2) - used, complete (with bonus soundtrack CD!), $6

Walmart:

Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) - new, $20
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2) - new, $7 (black Friday deal)

Goodwill:

Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) - used, cart only, $16
Incredible Crisis (PS) - used, complete (great condition too!), $5

Target:

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (PS2) - New, $5
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (PSP) - New, $5

Best Buy:

Brutal Legend (PS3) - new, $35 (wife picked it up for me :))

Game Zone:

Warriors Orochi (PS2) - used, complete, $5
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 (PS2) - used, complete, $5

I'm super stoked to get Incredible Crisis. That game is at least twelve different flavors of F'ed up craziness. Also, Phantom Brave is a duplicate, but my first copy didn't have the soundtrack.

god I'm old... I have been collecting cards since 1986... waflerevolution

My gawd, all this talk of Pokemon cards is making me feel too old as well. Wafle, I started about the exact same time you did... with Garbage Pail Kids. I still have my complete set of series 1 through 15 in binders.

The auction would only set you back 12K. (OBO to be fair.) No pictures in the auction, and no pictures on the GS account. Only *one* forum post in their posting history although the account has been active since June of 2004.

And check out their other auctions: a bunch of clothes and a book entitled "All About Pickling".

Maybe I could start up a pickling hobby. :P
