Then there is Amazon, the best place for buying ANYTHING, I go on it everyday and check certain tittles that I wait to come down in price. Hizang

Perhaps this is common knowledge for Amazon'ers, but one of my daily shopping rituals (which is why I'm posting this here) is to go to go to Amazon.com and: (1) check "Today's deals" Gold Box thing to see if there's anything game related in there (2) check the Video Game Deal of the Day to see if it's anything special (usually not) and then (3) check my cart.

The cart is the best. Load that thing up with anything and everything you want. Push it all into "saved items -- to buy later" just in case you ever do want to make an order an not clog it up. The benefit here (if you didn't know) is that when you check your cart later on, it will alert you at the top of the page with any price changes for the items in the cart. This makes it really easy to track game prices and wait for something to go super cheap and nab it up. (Rythm Heaven was recently going for $9.) As far as I know the amazon wishlist does not provide this functionality and it is awesome.

And screw sex I'd cut mine off just to get what he has xDHizang

Not me.

That is exactly the setup I have. All my games are now in my finished basement, on open shelves on two walls.. works out pretty good..

someNONSENSE

So jealous. My collection has grown too big and I don't have a single location to store them all which is driving me absolutely nuts.

Honestly I think I'd go with WoW. Simply because there's so much to do in it. I don't play it that much anymore but it would be easy to get back into.

duncanr2n

Yeah, I could easily do that too. I've spent my fair share of time in WoW and could easily do it all over again given the chance. (Especially since I only got up through Burning Crusade.)

I don't know if you people like digging up old topics ... Hizang

I'm all about digging up old topics. I didn't even realize this was old until you mentioned it (then I looked at the post dates).

I believe the correct answer would have to be what snpr put forth, the NEO GEO AES. I distinctly remember being caught up in the hype about that system when I was a kid. I saw the arcade cabs and drooled over the games, I heard you could buy a home system that did the exact same thing. I heard rumors about it from my friends (seeing as how there was no internet at the time) and pined for it. I was all ready to ask for one when my next birthday or Christmas came up but was completely crestfallen when I found out what the price was. No freakin' hope. I remember thinking, "who the hell has that kind of money!". So, in order to fulfill my childhood fantasies, I really should go with an AES ...

But in my heart, the game that I really really want to play more than any other right now is Demon's Souls, and since money is no object, I'd go with an unopened special edition. Now I know that collectability wise, this game can't hold a candle to the AES so it would be a poor choice; but dammit, I want to play it so bad!

I'm affraid my brain cannot adaquetely quantify one year's set of games to another's. I'm not saying its not a fair comparison to make, I'm just saying I'm not that smart.

Animal Crossing Wild World. clubhaxor

Oooh... good choice. Animal Crossing would be a great "year round" game. I'd probably rather go with the original though 'cause you get some original NES games thrown in too!

... or craigslist ...

I've been using craigslist the most as of late, but they're all great. For me, it's wherever I can find it in the best condition and for the cheapest price. But if you're putting this to a "deserted island" kind of situation where I can only choose one ... hmm ... I'd go with Amazon. I like the "deal of the day" stuff and the free shipping. You don't have to worry about getting sniped out of a bid, and even though you probably would be paying much more on average than on ebay, you can still find just about anything you're looking for on there even if amazon themselves don't have it.

this is hardly the first time a color has altered... Zelda, Maximum Carnage, Donkey Kong Country/Land, ect.waflerevolution

Easter Bunny's Big Day Out.... :P

torn between origional packaging and astetics...waflerevolution

I prefer original packaging, which is why the funny colors kind of bother me a bit. Like other have mentioned, it makes alphabetically ordered rows of games still seem "out of order" at first glance.

Yes it does bug me.

I'm also quite distressed due to the new PSP and PS3 logos. Makes my PS3 and PSP collections look funny

duncanr2n

I completely concurr with this statement. I'm not losing sleep over it, but my first thought at seeing all the above was "dude, why?".

I suppose I've not really had to worry about this as I don't have an XBox or a 360. So as far as feature-equivalent multiplatform games, I really only have to consider PS2 vs. GC, and I didn't have a GC until relatively recently. Even though I already owned Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 and RE 4 on the PS2 before I even owned a GC, I'm still considering getting the GC versions just because.

As far as not-quite-the-same-but-close-enough multi-platform games go, I've done stuff like buying both DS and PSP versions of N+ and Space Invaders Extreme. I've also bought Star Wars Force Unleashed on PS2, PS3, PSP, and Wii (I hope to get DS eventually) and yes, I know thats kinda crazy.
