Maybe PC is the way forward. I can use it to watch MKV files, play cds and listen to mp3s.

I think it's really stupid for them to put any restrictions on the consoles in terms of media playing ability as you can do it all on the PC so why stop it on the console. I have an xbox that I use almost exclusively as a media streamer even though there are better ones out there.

This makes a lot more sense that the previous story on this.

Maybe it takes up 35gb of space for the OS.

Does this mean captured and saved. Hopefully you can turn this off as if it records the last 5 mins of gameplay anyway then doesn't this cover you? I don't want lots of achievement videos saved to my hard drive automatically. Also if the achievement is collect 500 orbs then it's a bit pointless to capture getting the last one, or getting to the end of a level.

There are loads of great options they could give for free for xbox live.

Even ODST might have been better as with that you get all the maps for Halo 3 multiplayer.

Although at this point it looks like they are mostly giving away games published by Msoft.

Gears of War would be good for the next one if I was going to guess.
