God of War II progress thus far...

Yesterday I beat the game in God mode.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but it had it's tough spots, specifically the parts where Kratos is ridiculously outnumbered.  Other than that, it wasn't too bad, and the bosses didn't give me too much of a hard time either.  My final time was 9:40, which is 10 minutes more than my run in Spartan Mode.  After I post this bulletin, I'll probably start the game on Titan mode, the hardest difficulty yet.  I can see it now...PS2 controllers will be thrown and foul language will be yelled out in utter frustration.

On a side note, I just finished Challenge of the Titans, which consisted of 7 rooms, each with different objectives to complete.  It was pretty tough, but I got a Titan ranking on all but one of the challenges.  I unlocked Arena of the Fates and a bonus costume for Kratos, as well as some cheats.

God Mode

The enemies can take a little more punishment and likewise inflict more damage on Kratos, but it's nothing too severe.  I think the bosses are going to be tough though.  I left off in the part where Kratos has to ride the Pegasus through the sky, which is a lot of fun.  I'll probably put in a few hours before bed.

My next objective

Last night I completed God of War II on Mortal difficulty. It took me 13 hours. My next objective is to complete it in Spartan difficulty, and I begin that now...

God of War 2 -- Mortal Mode Clear

Well, I got God of War II this past Thursday. I put a lot of time into that game. Sleeping patterns were altered and social interactions were limited. It took me 13 hours to finish the game on Mortal difficulty. Now, anyone that knows how I play games should know that I'm going to work my way up through the difficulties and get the most out of my game.

There are a bunch of unlockables, and I will definitely earn them all. I'm really looking forward to playing through the game again!

God of War II

Yes! I finally got it! I've been wanting it since I played the first one back in January. I played about an hour and a half and, so far, it feels pretty familiar. I predict late night gaming tonight!

No game news today so here's another poem

It's odd.  Almost exactly two years ago, we had some work done to the house.  Some of the ceiling was repainted, and the restroom was refurbished.  For weeks, maybe months, the house smelled like dry paint and whatever it is they used to reinforce the tile in the restroom.  I love that smell.  It reminds me of my glory days, when life was amazing.  It reminds me of the countless hours I spent with my friends.  It reminds me of her.

Food tasted better back then.  The world was brighter, even on cloudy days.  Water tasted better after a light workout.

Now, here I am, two years later.  The other day, some guy came to do some work on the garage door.  I smelled it all over again.  Paint.  As soon as that odor entered my nostrils, memories and feelings rushed back into my head and into my heart.

The glory days are over.  Life is not amazing.  I hardly see my friends.  One of my closest friends won't even talk to me anymore because of my idiotic jokes.  School isn't fun.  And here I am, missing her.

Dry paint.  Probably my favorite smell...based solely on its significance of the past.

"The Distinct Smell of Dry Paint"

An old house,

Remodeled.

A broken heart,

Healed.

They came and fixed my house.

You came and fixed my heart.

The smell of dry paint in my house,

The smell of cream on your skin.

Two of the best memories I have,

Two years ago.

I want to fall asleep,

And smell the dry paint,

As I think of you.

A memorable moment

Just a little while ago, I beat Super Mario World for the very first time.  Many people did this already about 15 years ago when the game came out.  I, however, could not because I never got the SNES.  But now that I've played through the game, I understand what all the fuss was about so many years ago.

There is still some time to be put into this game, as I'm going to go back and unlock all the hidden levels.  And seriously, I can see myself coming back to it again and again, because it is a very addictive and charming game.

Well, farewell for now.  I predict a review in the near future...

B - Plus

That's what I got on my last essay for English. I suspected as much. Not bad.

I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day. For now, I'm going to go play some Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. (Been a while.)
