there will be no games in hddvd why would it bother you guys? Your system will always be the same suddently because MS or sony say you need hdmi or whatever doesnt mean you really need it same goes for hddvd or anything else, i have alot of games for my 360 its an oringinal premium from 2006 and my 20gb hd its still not half way.
I do plan to buy a new HDD 120gb one but not anytime soon and i will only buy it if i need it.
I think this is made to appeal to new people to expand the 360 market not to replace the older models wich are basicaly the same, theres nothing you can do with hdmi that you cant do with component cables and optical digital audio out.
if all that its true nice i dont plan to replace my old one though dont really need hdmi or hddvd player so that only leaves the hdd wich i plan to upgrade sooner or later but still 120 is enough for me (all that "i need hdmi for Full HD" is bs dont fall for that component its just the same as long as ur tv does a good job with it)
i think the reason most people prefer to watch the game in 720p rather than 1080i is simply that the game isnt in 1080i its native 720p upscalled to 1080i so it looks worse than 720p because basicly you will see a 720i image.
now most if not all tvs that support 1080i work by accepting that signal and downscaling to their native resolution usualy 1366x768
if the game native resolution is 1920 x 1080, 1080i is better if the game native resolution is 1280 x 720, 720p will be better.
Anyway progressive scan will always make everything look smoother
So many guys with SD tvs that sucks if u can u should all upgrade to at least a 720p capable display
