Summer's ending

Hey Gamespotters, meleeman here with a blog to end the summer.

"It was a good summer," he recalled fondly while puffing from a pipe.

Looking back at sunsets on the East side...we lost track of the ti--oh sorry that's not my summer, that's Smile Like You Mean it by The Killers. It's playing right now..but that's a very good summer song, which is fitting ;)

Since I last blogged I'm sure a lot has happened but I don't remember the assorted things so I'll just randomly note some highlights.

Soccer's going good. We had a scrimmage but that was it, no games yet. Our team is shaping up well though, which is always good.

CAP is going well. I'm a flight sergeant now, for the flight of advanced cadets. I'm happy about this and very eager to take command of my fellow cadets, but the squadron is undergoing a lot of changes both big and small and it's getting a bit crazy for my tastes right when I get handed a leadership position. More on that another time.

Steve slept over last weekend. That was good times. I played Left 4 Dead for the first time, which was a blast (among other things we did).

Oh, my brother Josh moved off to college. Forgot that little detail. That's pretty weird, but I'm enjoying it. I also have access to the internet with my Xbox again, so I'll renew Live soon.

I finished Generation Kill finally. It was superb. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to find the show somewhere.

I suppose the last big thing is the retreat I just got back from. Tuesday we left for Rockbridge, a camp off in Virginia that I've been to before and possibly even talked about. I had been twice with church, in 6th and 7th grade, but when they opened up a similar camp 1/4 of the distance from us, then church and school retreats were both relocated there. I was thoroughly surprised when they told us we'd be at Rockbridge with school this year, but it was very fun. We go every other year before school starts to meet new students and just have a good time. It was 4 days long instead of weekend retreats with church, so we had a long time to do a whole lot of stuff. Some of the highlights were an ultimate frisbee competition among the grades, a zip line, the "blob", frisbee golf, the rock climbing wall, capture the flag, the class skits, and just the relaxing with friends. I just wish I could have gone as a senior!

To top off the last (and three day long) weekend of summer, dad and I are going shooting on Labor Day. I cannot WAIT. Stay tuned for that little blog ;)

Until next time, I've been a oh-no-summer-can't-really-be-ending irmeleeman5995, and that is a mouthful to say!

Blahhhhhhhhh update

Hey guys. Meleeman is here and lively as never. Been a while since I put up a blog, so let's not dawdle!

Soccer tryouts were Monday and Tuesday. I made JV again (thank goodness). I think varsity is still a bit out of my reach and it's better that I not bite off more than I can chew. Besides, they'll need me on JV this year. I'll have a lot of fun, play pretty much every minute, and be that leader captain jazz. It'll be good. I'm looking forward to being a voice of authority 8)

I still haven't beaten Super Metroid yet, but I kinda stopped for no good reason really close to the end and started playing FC2 again. I never beat it because of a corrupt save file (or something) and I figured if I do a rather slapdash run I can catch back up to where I left off and possibly finish the game with what left I have of summer. I have most of the achievements for all those extra curricular activities I did so I can safely skip a fair amount.

I'm still reading Generation Kill because I have so much other school crap to read that I haven't picked it up in WEEKS. I'm on the last of three books, Grapes of Wrath, which is the undisputed worst book I've ever read. It's pathetic.

Other than that, I've just been hangin' at friends' houses, like I will be this weekend, and doing soccer, for which our first scrimmage is tomorrow. That'll be interesting, that's for sure.

I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting but such is summer! Always a lot done, always a lot forgotten.

I still have yet to airsoft ONCE this summer. :x

Until next time, I've been a yawning irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Madonna stage mishap- 6 injured, 2 dead

...Sorry no, my blog has absolutely nothing to do with that incident. I just saw the headline okay?

I'm sure you're all wonderin' what ol' meleeman's been up to as of late. Let's see:

Encampment: A weeklong bootcamp of sorts that I attended with CAP. In a word: Insane. I loved it though. It was really challenging and it had me questioning myself a lot, but by the end of the week I wanted to stay there! The days were so long but the week as a whole felt really short by the end. In a nutshell, Encampment is a mock basic training where you learn how to be a top notch cadet in Civil Air Patrol. You drill, march, sit in classes, learn customs and courtesies, stand in formations, have activity days, prepare rooms and uniforms for inspection, sit on fire watch, polish shoes and boots...and of course, get yelled at ;) Some of the highlights were riding in (and I actually got to take off in the cockpit of) a C-130, riding in a Chinook helicopter, going to a virtual (and sickly realistic) weapons simulator, and going off a rappel tower, which included a Huey that had been mounted to the tower for jumping out of.

Next year I hope to go back as staff, but scheduling may interfere with another CAP program I want to attend next summer. More on that another time, but I can't decide if I wanna be a Flight Sergeant who does all the yelling, teaching, and commanding, or someone on the public affairs staff who takes pictures and writes articles all day. Both seem like they would be fun...I can't decide.

I have my own bedroom now:!: I'm ecstatic :D I've shared a room with my brother Josh since I was born and I'm ready for a little space, you know? He moved into the basement for the remainder of summer and then he's moving off to college, so I'm set 8) Not only do I have a lot of space now, but I get little perks like ability to read late at night if I want, ability to let my alarm (music) play as long as I want in the morning, and also...you know...a TV, Wii, 360, and PS2 in my room! I'm loving it, except that I have no Xbox Live capability up there, so I think I'm gonna have to move it back into the basement when Josh moves out. Until then, though, I've been using the opportunity to get some single player gaming done that I was otherwise too distracted to do.

First thing? SUPER METROID. I, after having had Wii Points for 19 months, redeemed them and bought Super Metroid off the Wii VC. It's SO good. I love seeing where Fusion and Zero Mission get their cues from, and it's interesting to see what stuff changed and what stuff has remained the same since the later two games. I just got the Ice Beam, for those of you who are familiar with it. For those of you who are not, you should remedy that for $8. It's so worth it. I feel right at home playing it with the controls and the layout of the game. The gameplay is as crisp as ever and still puzzling at times. The graphics, I must say, are quite good. They're colorful and surprisingly detailed, with cool nuances like Samus's visor and chest...stripe...thing flashing in dark areas. I also enjoy looking at things like lava bubbling and Samus breathing. There's also some more...amusing things like firework style explosions that emanate from fallen enemies and the sounds that go with it :P One of the biggest disappointments in the audio visual realm is Samus's basic beam shot. Very underwhelming. All in all, awesome. Totally dig it.

I've seen a few movies lately. I saw Top Gun for the first time ever, and that was pretty good. Be Kind Rewind was really great, too. I'm still reading Generation Kill but I haven't had time to finish it because of Great Gatsby for English and an APUSH book. Speaking of AP History, I got my AP Scores :o 5 on AP Modern European History, and 3 on AP World History, which I did not actually take as a class!! I saw those scores and about died of ecstasy. I even SKIPPED an essay on the AP World exam. A 3 is like..the highest score I could have gotten with that in mind. I couldn't be happier :)

That's basically it for me. How are things on your guys' end? Post a comment, tell me what's up

Until next time, I've been a Metroid Larva saving irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Usual, generic update

Hola guys. meleeman here again with a blog about the goings on.

I've been playing a lot of Call of Duty 4 lately because my Xbox Live Account is still offline for the time being. I picked up some achievments like beating that training thing in under 20 seconds and getting all the intel items, and since then I have been having an absolute blast playing around with the cheats. It's hysterical and awesome. Other news in gaming consists of me buying Super Metroid to play it (for the first time ever!) off the VC soon, but I don't know when yet. Also, since Battlefield Bad Company is less than 20 dollars brand new, I'm definitely getting that like...today, possibly. I'll beat the snot out of the single player and by the time I'm done I might just have XBL back :) Can't...wait...

I finished Ender's Game a few days ago. That book was SPECTACULAR. If I didn't have a reading list longer than my leg, I'd pick up the sequels, but that'll have to wait. In the meantime, I finally picked up Generation Kill, seeing as it was next in line. That book is simply outstanding. Hysterically funny, but also very impressively written and, simply, gripping. I'm definitely looking into the show when I'm done, it's supposed to be wonderful.

I have done much in the way of writing lately, though seeing as I have 5 projects partially completed or not yet started I don't know what I'm waiting for. Patience buddies

Other than that, meleeman's just been chilling. Mowing a lawn here, vaccuuming there, cleaning a room everywhere, running this way, working out that way...the usual. Only, minus the school thing. It's such a relief...I just wish I was able to go see all those summer blockbusters coming out. I haven't seen Up or Star Trek yet, and there's a bunch more coming out or already out that I'd like to see...but one thing at a time :D

Oh, one other interesting thing I've been doing is working out the details of transferring all our old homevideos to DVD. Dad bought the recorder so it's my task to figure it all out, tell dad what we need to buy, and then do all the transferring when we have it (which is why we're going out later today, to buy the DVDs). In exchange for the tedium I'm going to end up putting up with, he's taking me shooting twice, so that'll be sweet. What I hope to do is shoot that USP again and also shoot the P22 as well. Maybe even a revolver? Who knows. I'll keep you posted on that as it rolls around.

That's all I got. How's life for all you guys? Leave a comment, tell me what's up.

Until next time, I've been a running-out-of-things-like-this-to-say irmeleeman5995, and that is (certainly) a mouthful to say!

Ok Foolz, see SUM 41'S album All Killer No Filler, track 8 for today's blog name

It's that time again! MAN I'm so stoked. Time to work, relax, read, game, write...it's endless! I have a few things planned this summer but more on those when we come to them I guess.

For you guys, though, I gotta tell you. I'm looking forward to Halo 3ing my butt off this summer. Kyle got the new maps and I'm dying to try them out. The problem was, my XBL account was on his credit card. A few months ago he lost and canceled said credit card, and my XBL account froze. To make a long story short, dad refused to reactivate it with his credit card till summer. So, now that I'm done, I'm gonna talk to him about it soon and get back into the beauty that is Halo 3.

So, E3.

Halo Reach? I think it's gotta be Peter Jackson's secret project. It's gotta be. My predictions? FPS where you play as a/multiple Spartan(s) during the battle and possibly the aftermath of Reach. Whatever it is, though, I can't wait. Unbelieveably stoked.

ODST. I was excited, now I'm beside myself. I can't wait.

ACII. YAYYYYYYYYY

Modern Warfare 2. YAYYYYYY

Spinter Cell looks fabulous and I can't wait to see what they're doing with it.

Metroid...Team Ninja? Really? Interesting though. I've been wanting a 3rd person Metroid for a long time. Plus, Samus talks? And is suitless for as much of the trailer as she is not? Story elements seem to prevail in this Metroid :D And Adammm!!!! Sweet. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Other Nintendo stuff looks good. Both new Zeldas have me excited, as do the Marios and some other stuff.

Project Natal. Looks stupid. The Wii was good because it didn't cross bounds. It knew its place as a video game. If I wanted VR I'd go to an arcade. The whole thing looks like it could be cool but will not be, will be overly simplistic and gimicky, and will be rougher around the edges in terms of usability than anything in my wildest dreams. And honestly, if it works, and it's cool, and I like it, fine. But I'm not getting my hopes up and I don't really care whether it does its thing or not.

That was all my commentary in a flash. I'll be back in the near future for you cats.

Like the last time I did this, I will fill you all in...the title is "Summer".

Until next time, I've been a free and liberated irmeleeman5995, and I'll be back!

So...I'm back

Yeah...yeah...meleeman's back...

Sorry I kinda vanished for...four months  And sorry for not really saying anything, especially to you all at TWL who were kind of counting on me to do stuff. Before I knew what was happening, I was getting busier and busier, then starting AP exams, then a term paper, and now the rest of the exams are up in a week and I'll be studying for those...but I had a second to sit down and write this little note saying

(Lewis Black voice) "He's BACK!!"

Don't worry...heh, I just saw Terminator Salvation, which was really good...I was just about to say "I'll be back" which is why I thought that. Anyways, yeah. In the meantime, if you're curious what I've been up to lately, you might be interested to read this:

Until next time, I've been an M4 toting irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

I promise you this will be the single most interesting blog you read all year

Basically, I got hit by a car.

Here's the whole story. All of it is truth, I kid you not, and there are two very awesome guys who witnessed it who could back me up if you wish to contact them:

I was riding my bike at about 7:00 last night (which was Sunday night, I wrote this the next day). It was fairly dark out, but a full moon and streetlights provided enough illumination for any half-witted driver to see me. Oh, and I suppose the reflectors on my bikeoughtta help too. Maybe I'm dreaming.

At any rate, I'm on the sidewalk, traveling down a street. There comes a point in front of me where the street I'm riding parallel to turns to the right while still running straight as well. So, for little old me on the sidewalk, I simply make sure no one is going to turn into the turn as I quickly pass over the street width wise. As long as I'm not stupid and all the kiddies in the cars play nice, everyone can safely navigate this very simple T intersection. Actually, more like Ŧ if the small line in the middle is my humble bike path.

So, I glance up ahead of me first. One pair of headlights. No turn signal. I consider him ignored. A glance behind me reveals another pair of headlights and no signal. Even if the guys behind me were gonna turn, though, there was every reason for them to see me and be able to slow down if worst came to worst. I had the right of way, as it were.

Anyways, as I popped off the sidewalk and began crossing the street, I notice the pair of headlights in front of me start to turn. Now, I don't know if you guys have heard this or not, but it's a widely accepted fact that events such as car accidents are witnessed to the victims in slow motion and remembered as such. I was no exception. I had enough time to process three thoughts.

1. He's turning. Why is he turning? He has no signal! He's not supposed to be turning!!
2. I do NOT have enough time to react to this.
3. This is not going to end well.

Sure enough, right about as the third thought is leaving my head, my worst fears are realized. I'm hit by a CAR! But...I'm ME! I'm invincible! I don't break bones! I don't get into accidents! I'm just me, nothing significant (or bad) happens to me! Of course, by now, I'm face down on his hood...

What happened was his right front corner brushed my front tire out of the way. As a result, the handlebars are instantly jerked from my control and the wheel is instantly whipped around. I continue to fly forward as the bike is sent skittering along the ground, coming to a stop about 15 feet away. I land face first on the hood of the guy's car, and the force of his car continuing right along under me sends me rolling up his windshield, onto his roof, and off his trunk. You can probably picture the spectacle in your head. It was intense, and the whole time I'm thinking "NONONONO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!! AHHHH WHAT HAVE I DONE?"

The car which was behind me contained two very awesome, helpful gentlemen who quickly rushed onto the scene for my help. They had witnessed everything, and just to give you some perspective on the crash, they thought I was going to requiremedivac to get me out. :-| Good thing I didn't ;)

There's a looooot of helpful factors that lined up in order for me to emerge practically unscathed from the crash. One was GOD, obviously, who orchestrated all the rest of them :D The first and most obvious factor was that I was not "T-boned". That would have devastated my leg and side, and also would have pinned me to his car and sent my upper torso against the hood of his car, ending with my head onto or through his windshield. Um...ouch?

Another was the fact that I didn't land badly. As a matter of fact, I landed on my FEET! I don't even REMEMBER landing, but the witnesses both told me I landed on my feet. Which makes sense; I don't remember landing any other way. Had I landed on my butt or my back, my head would have soon followed, being smashed into the ground. Horrifying, yes. But I wasn't wearing a helmet. THAT is the single best part. I wasn't wearing a helmet!! I made a joke not too long after the crash to the two guys who helped me out "Who needs helmets anyways?" They both gave me nervous laughs like "Wow I can't believe he just made that joke after going through THAT..."

But joke I did. I kinda brushed myself off after the whole thing and said to myself, "I'm....fine....that's odd." I looked myself over? No cuts. I couldn't find blood anywhere. About the time the guys came to ask if I was alright, the shock kind of set in and I fell on my butt for about a minute, unable to think anything other than "I can't believe that just happened" and "Why the HECK am I okay?"

Of course, this happened after I had been biking for three miles or so. Endorphins long since had kicked in, inducing a runner's high, increasing pain tolerance among other things, not to mention all the adrenaline pumping through my system didn't wear off for three hours... But anyway, I was seriously unharmed. I later discovered one cut on my elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle. Not only that, but the one on my ankle was the only one that wasn't laughably irrelevant.

While one guy checked up on me, the other guy went to hunt down the driver who ran into me. The man hadn't stopped and THEN decided to stop like 20 meters off. Our first thought was "Hit and run you &&%$%$&*&$???!!!" and then "Wait he's not doing it right..." as he pulled over to the side of the road and proceeded to get out. He comes over.

72 year old man. Raced racecars in Europe for 13 years. 12 accidents in his racing career, no public accidents in his life. Wow, right? Well, the second witness came back first and told me how his car looks worse than I do, which I replied with a "You're damn right it does!" 3 dents andtiremarks. Hooyah.

Anywho, the driver quickly followed my helpful witness and began babbling apologies and explanations. He seemed nice enough, though utterly bewildered at the whole thing. He kept repeating the same things over again; he could not comprehend what had happened, couldn't get over the fact that he hadn't seen me, and needed the story explained thoroughly to him multiple times before being able to grasp what occurred. I thought it odd but figured he was an elderly and shellshocked gentleman. I'd let it slide, though I was growing increasingly annoyed that the guy wouldn't shut up. I didn't lose my temper at all. I was making jokes and playing off like I was fine. And I was fine. But I wanted to go home now. Let him deal with his own damage since it was his fault and we all knew it.

I needed my parents to bring our trusty station wagon to bring me home, though. Er, me and the bike (which, by the way, I easily fixed on the scene of the accident and works good as new). This was the entertaining conversation on the phone:

First, the phone rings four times and no one answers. I call again, and mom picks up.

Me: Mom, I just hit a guy's car (the two witnesses both shake their heads), er, I mean, he hit me (both witnesses nod their heads).
Mom: (disbelieving) You hit. A guy's. Car?
Me: Yeah. I'm Old Stockbridge [road]. Can you send the stationwagon and come pick me and the bike up?
Mom: ...........(sigh) coming.

:D It made me laugh. I tried to sound as low key as I could. I left out the whole "I just cinematically bounced all the way over a guy's car and landed on my feet" part. No need to scare her or anything. I mean, seriously, I felt FINE. I just wanted to go home.

After that, dad showed up eventually. With a flashlight, that boy scout ;) He inspected the man's car, chatted with all four of us, and eventually decided the cops were required when the driver told us he had had 2 beers before driving. THAT explains why he was a bit out of it, and that seemed to click with everyone except me until the cops gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed. He got the handcuffs, stuffed in the police car, the whole shabang. After that, lots of deliberating, talking to the witnesses who were both two really awesome people, and typical bureaucracy associated when police get involved. All in all, everything was fine. The guy's wife showed up very quickly, took the car away, provided insurance information, and that sort of thing. Everything I left out for you guys is essentially irrelevant, though it was a very interesting experience. All in all, I had the four minor cuts, and my left leg is awfully sore, but I've seriously had worse pain in my leg from soccer injuries. I'll definitely live.

Flipping and tumbling through the air in slow motion, seeing everything from the perspective of the victim instead of from a filmed YouTube video or something, was fascinating. And I'll never forget my thoughts racing as I'm being thrashed about on top of a car just thinking "I can't believe this just happened" and then thinking "....why am I ok after that?" I was a bit shook up, or "dazed" as one of the witnesses wrote in his account for the police. But I just checked to make sure my iPod/headphones were in order (which they were, fancy that), that my phone was working, and that once I discovered a bleeding knee, I made sure my shorts weren't getting bloody. I mean come on, I just got hit by a car. That's what's most important, right?

Turns out the shorts got torn all the way up the side. They're ruined. What the heck. I tried really hard not to get blood on those.

Generic update

'Ello guys. What's going on? Hope everything's hunky-dory for you peeps.

I'm doing alright I 'spose. I'm actually pretty excited at the moment.

This and that. A tight bore, extended length barrel for my airsoft rifle, and a silencer to add some external flair and to house the chunk of the barrel that would otherwise stick out of my gun. According to sources, this will boost the accuracy of my rifle beyond my wildest dreams (and they get pretty wild) and also moderately increases the speed at which BBs will travel, which also boosts accuracy as they arrive at the target faster and stay in the air for less time, giving wind and outside forces less chance to alter the BB's path. I'm super stoked about buying these upgrades FINALLY, as I've wanted them for quite some time, and they're only gunna run me approx. 65 dollars, not including s/h charges. That's a lot cheaper than I anticipated :D

As for the MK23 pistol, it's still on my list, and will be the next thing I buy, but the upgrades come first. On that note, I have a hefty sum of cash from Xmas and birthday, plus a little work of my own, but it's looking like most of it's going into my Guatemala fund to pay it off in full. I shouldn't complain--out of 1300 bucks I raised 1030 just from donations, so throwing in the remaining 270 is pretty slim relatively. Still though, I could have gotten my upgrades and pistol with plenty to spare :( We'll see what happens though, mom said that hopefully it won't come to me putting ALL of it into the fund, but it might.

As far as school goes, it's fine. I just had 2 days off for snow plus a 2 hour delay, and according to weather it's supposed to be an EXACT repeat this week. That'd be SWEET. ;) Report cards just came. I was VERY pleased. I don't remember specifics, but I'll tell ya'll later.

Other than that, we're reading The Inferno in english. Have any of you read it?

Meleeman has a lot of books on his plate. Still chugging through Rainbow Six, though I'll be done soon. After that it's the SEAL training book I mentioned, then Ender's Game, then Cole Protocol, and now a book about Marines my friend's lending me that inspired the HBO special recently aired. The name escapes me, but apparently it rules.

Gaming's slow as of late. I picked up Tomb Raider Anniversary, of all things, to attempt to finish that before the hail of games comes crashing down on me in about a month.

On TV, Burn Notice, Psych, and Monk all came back :D And 24...ohhhh se amo mucho...

Hm. That would seem to be it. OH. OHHH. I can't believe I almost forgot!!

My birthday was awesome. I mean awesome. I can't remember the last time we had that much fun. Ben, his dad, my dad, and Steve had some pizza, donuts, and cinnamon buns for dinner (very unusual and surprising...I dig it) before going to shoot 8) We had:

Ben's .22. Scoped, bolt action, clip fed.

Steve's .22. Iron sights, bolt action, breech loaded.

Ben's M1 Carbine.

My dad's SIG Sauer P228.

And...well...an utter dream.

As you may (but probably do not) know, I am a huge HK buff. They make such guns as the MP5, G3, G36, UMP, MK23, USP, MP7, HK416, and PSG1, just to name a few. Well when you take pistols into account, my two faves of theirs are the MK23 and USP. The MK23 is super rare, even in the civilian version, and the USP comes in about 8 variants that shoot 3 calibers. The .45 is out of the question as is the .40, as my dad doesn't want to buy ammo just to shoot those kinds of guns on the range and not be able to use it in his 9mm SIG if he needed to, so my only shred of hope was that the range maybe, just MAYBE, had a 9mm USP to rent there. It was a shred, mind you, and I expected them not to have one but knew dad would let me rent one if they did.

It was my birthday, after all.

So we get there and I go to the counter and ask if they had any HK pistols. "Yeah, a USP," he says. My jaw DROPPED. "Are you serious?!" says I. "What caliber?" "9."

I think the ecstasy in that moment drowned out the universe, I fainted, woke up a short while later, and was not fully back to my senses until standing upright where I had been before fainting :P Or maybe I didn't faint. Either way, I shot this freaking gun.

It was beautiful. Just beautiful. I'm also proud to say becuz of my obsession with the USP and his older brother the MK23, I basically knew the gun by the back of my hand even though I'd never held one before :P He shot pretty nice, too. Only costs 889 bucks if you buy one from the range, too. I would be lying if I told you I'm not considering it...

Anyways, I could babble on for ages about the shooting trip, just know that it was AWESOME. That's all for me, I gotta go workout.

Until next time, I've been an irmeleeman5995 who is no longer a stranger to HK pistols, and that's a mouthful to say! And...doesn't really mean anything

Exam scores, flying, shooting, and a sweet birthday

Gamespot, good evening. How's everyone been doing?

Meleeman's alright. No complaints. Let's jump right in, shall we?

School's back in session, and I took all my lingering exams besides the AP modern euro exam which I took before break. Exams felt really easy. In order of ease-

Spanish. Honestly thought I walked out with a 100

Geometry. Not much different. There was one I thought I got wrong. That's it.

English. Always feels easy, never ends up quite how I wish, though. Wasn't expecting anything bad, at any rate.

APMEH. It was hard, obviously, but Chem had me a lot more worried, is all

Chem. Felt ok. I ROCKED that class up until about a month ago, so most of it went fine. But compared to my OTHER exams, I fully expected this to be my worst grade. Somewhere in the low B range.

Well, the turnout was significantly different. Eng was a 98!! I was shocked, I had no idea I did so well. I was expeting high B low A. APMEH brins up second place with an astounding 90. A 70 on that exam would have been gratifying. Needless to say, I was relieved. Next up? CHEMISTRY, if you can believe that. 84. Sure enough, the first three pages of the exam were almost flawless, the last page was what mostly killed me with a lot of points off. Next was Geo, with an 82. WAY lower than I expected, and the only one I thought I got wrong was funnily enough, right. The VAST majority of "errors" were ridiculous true false questions. They were worded to be things like...well, I'll give you an example. "Diagonals of parallelograms sometimes bisect each other." When I read that I said, "Yeah, that's true." FALSE. False because they always bisect each other. I got enough of those kinds of questions wrong that I would have had at least an A. I'm not kidding, it was outrageous. I knew ALL of that crap.

Last? The EASIEST exam of any of them. Spanish. 80. 75 without the generous curve, too. Wtf, mate? I still dunno what happened there. There was a section on commands that I should have aced but botched, and that was the majority of points lost. Still though. Lame.

All in all, exams went ok. I was just glad to get something other than a freaking 70 in math. The last 4 math exams I've had were all in the 70 range. Take THAT!

Other than that, life's life. Haven't written much as of late. I've seen a few good movies, namely Reservoir Dogs, which I always meant to see and was just fabulous. I'm still reading Rainbow Six. So long. Good though. After R6, I was lent a new (and supposedly really good) book about SEAL training, my friend gave me Ender's Game which I've always meant to read, and there's a new Halo book out which I have yet to read. Gotta get on that! :P

Oh, then there's Far Cry 2. My disk was being fritzy as I mentioned once a while back. It caused freezing and inability to load certain files or parts of the game. It rendered me unable to proceed in the game, so I was stuck. I noticed Best Buy was selling it brand new for 30 bucks, so I went out and bought a new copy, hoping to find someone whose Xbox would play the poopy disk. Well...the new copy has the same problem. I also tried installing the game to the harddrive. No dice. It's a hardware issue, not software, but now I have a pristine copy of the game that I cannot return because of Best Buy policy and a perfectly good used copy which just doesn't like working on my stupid Xbox. I'm hoping to send my Xbox in to have this issue repaired, and in the meantime I just might get some freetime to revisit some Wii games I've been meaning to get to forever. Heck, Twilight Princess alone would last me all 3 weeks or whatever downtime without the Xbox. :D

That's that...otherwise, my birthday's tomorrow. Meleeman turns 16. Flippin' weird, right? It's weird to me, anyways. In coincidence (is that a word?) of turning 16, I got my driver's permit the other day, but have yet to drive. I went flying with my dad today with a friend, who along with me is now in Civil Air Patrol, and tomorrow after school me and some pals are going to SHOOT GUNS!!! MUAHAHAHHA  I've been meaning to go shoot for ages. I REALLY want to make a habit of it. This is a great time to start, am I right? :P

Speaking of shooting, SEAL training is going. I bumped up my run amount (or maybe I already covered this, I don't remember) so now I'm pushing three miles a day, in bitter cold. It's wonderful. Other than that, I'm still trying to work my workout down to one sitting in a day before increasing any of those amounts. More on that in the future, I suppose. The other thing I wanna do is start full out just lifting weights. The traditional way of getting buff. I dunno what I'm waiting for. Can someone please smack me and get me to start lifting?

Until next time, I've been a soon-to-be-16 year old irmeleeman5995, and that's weird! Not to mention a mouthful to say! :P
