irmeleeman5995 Blog

Just some news. Nothing entirely special.

Hey everyone. meleeman's back with another blog. Don't you love how I didn't capitalize my name even though it was at the beginning of a sentence? :P

Thursday, our brutal practice, was very interesting. I covered it a bit in my last blog, so if you don't remember just skim that paragraph before reading on here.

So it turns out, the kid I sort-of maybe thought I injured went to the doctor that night because his knee hurt so bad. Turns out, I gave him a compound sprain and a micro fracture in his knee. Whoops...I still don't remember even touching him, and then I found out Friday night that he might have torn his ACL. Ouch. My fault :(

So anyway, turns out I'm very sore even today from that practice. We were told make sure we stretched every day to keep our legs from being too sore, and I have been...a lot. I even sat down before some of my classes started and stretched in class :P But the reason I'm telling you my legs hurt so much is because ironically enough, I worked all day Saturday.

First I mowed our lawn for a nice 10 bucks. Legs...hurt...Then, from 12 in the afternoon til 6:15 at night, I went to a park to film all these little league football games. Being the techie on call for anything extracurricular that needs doing at my school it seems, I got suggested to one of the guys in my grade's dad to film games for him. He owns a company called Archiva Sports, whose website I cannot seem to find and cannot link you to. This company films little league games of all sports for various purposes. The teams can buy the DVDs and analyze their own mistakes and other teams they've played, they can put clips on websites and stuff for advertising, the list goes on. So anyway, I filmed, standing up, mind you, for a huge part of the day yesterday, and got 45 bucks. So a total of 55 bucks yesterday. Sweet. Pain.

Why sweet? Well for a while now, I've wanted a second Xbox, and preferably the new Halo 3 one. The problem was, with all the great games that have started to come out and will continue to do so as the year ends, I didn't have the money for it. Well with this new job paying potentially more amounts of money every saturday, I could buy the new Xbox now and re-earn the money needed for the respective video games before they wind up on the shelves. However, upon counting my money, I only have 322 dollars of the 420 needed for the Halo 3 Xbox plus tax. Then I realized that after paying for Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl that I sucked 100 bucks of money out of my funding. Which is at least somewhat good, becuz Metroid already came out and I've beaten it and loved it, and the other fifty gone because of Brawl is another fifty that I wouldn't have to re-earn to buy it later if I had saved it and used it for the Xbox. So to sumarize, within three weeks I could have the Halo 3 Xbox, but I also don't know if it'll be around that long, and Phantom Hourglass in two days would set me back by more or less another week's pay at the job. So I dunno, worst case I find one on eBay in October sometime if they aren't still on store shelves. I've decided that while Ace Combat 6 will be amazing and I'm definitely going to buy it, Kyle said he's just gonna wind up renting it out when it comes out in the meantime so we won't need to drop any money on it. Gotta love it.

Well, I guess that's really it. My Xbox still isn't back yet, but the clock is ticking and I'm still sticking to my prediction of Oct. 1st, which is also the same day Phantom Hourglass hits the DS (though, being a Monday means it won't actually be on the shelves til the 2nd), so if the timing coincides well enough Phantom Hourglass might just get overshadowed by the finally-able-to-play-it Halo 3. Or maybe it won't come then, and I'll have no choice but to end my two month long boredom by finally buying Zelda. When I stop and think about it, my Xbox began freezing in mid-August...and since then has prvented me from playing it. MP3 was a good time waster for a solid week, and after that I went back to being bored and video game deprived again. It's been so long since I killed something...although really not. One week ago from today, actually, was when I was among the first 400 to play Halo 3 online. I guess that counts for something.

Until next time, I've been an increasingly richer irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Wow I have quite a bit to talk about.

So one thing I haven't updated you all in for a while is soccer. We've played two games since I last updated, both of which we won. I played in the field for the last half of the last half (so around 15-20 minues) both games. I did fairly well. So right now, we've still only lost once. Actually, come to think of it, we played another game I didn't update you on, and we won it 5-0. THAT game, I played in the field a lot, and the team sucked so I actually did really well.

Today we had a brutal practice involving lots of running and then a short scrimmage at the end--but we didn't use goalies. So I hung back on deep defense and more or less played goalie but didn't use my hands. Eventually, our defense stated slacking off so I took over and by the course of like five minutes I slide tackled three people. One of whom I almost sort of injured and didn't mean to, but it just goes to show ya :P It was funny, becuz before the practice, basically the entire team started talking about how pansy a sport baseball is and how much better lacrosse is and only me and Chris (one of our captains, actually) like baseball and we pretty much gave up defending it. But after the game, EVERYONE was telling me how physical I was playing and how good I was at tackling and I just laughed. "You'd never believe why I'm so good at slide tackling," I said. "Why?" they would all say. "Because of baseball!" I'd laugh. Good times.

So still no luck on the Xbox front. I'm expecting it to be here about Oct. 1st, somewhere in there, and the first weekend it's back me, Kyle, and maybe Ben/Matt will play co-op on legendary because I hear the ending is longer and better on Legendary. So yeah.

Also, I'm using this time to advertise the Writers' Lounge. For the first time since it started intially, it's up and running better than I've ever seen it. Under new-old management, the original founder has lots of new ideas and cranks them out relentlessly to the point where my dreams have come true--every time I check back, there's enough more new topics and/or posts that I don't catch up on all of them at one time. That's how I can tell the Union is truly being active again, and it seems like all of the members who at one point in time ever were active are all now active at once. We can always use more fresh minds and material, so if you like to read or write just join here.

Come to think of it, that's really it. I thought I had more to talk about but really, I don't. Oh, well Phantom Hourglass is finally hitting store shelves soon and I can't wait, although more likely than not, it'll be overshadowed by Halo 3 for...a long time. My guess is that with Zelda, then Ace Combat later in October, both of them will be sharing time with Halo 3 until Super Smash Bros. Brawl in which case Zelda will by then be over and Halo, AC, and SSBB will all equally split time, becuz each have very promising multiplayer capabilities. So it'll be a packed next few months for gaming. Also keep in mind that I MIGHT end up blogging one more time between now and when my Xbox gets back. If I don't, it'll be just blog comments and WL posts until then. Once it shows up, though, I'm officially taking off from GS for at least a week, so don't be alarmed if I drop off the face of the Earth.

Oh, and in final news, I am offically going to start writing my closing line differently each time I do. I've been toying with it FOREVER but for lack of keeping consistency I didn't. But I did last post, and figured that since I broke the streak I might as well do it now.

Until next time, I've been an irmeleeman5995 with an incredibly itchy trigger finger, and THAT is certainly a mouthful to say.

I'm not gonna lie...I'm very upset.

As most of you probabaly know, I was recently stricken with the Red Ring of Death for the 360. Now, I can't play Halo 3 when it comes out. Which...sucks, becuz it's my most looked forward to day I can possibly think of, I'm a huge huge huge huge huge too many huges to put HUGE fan of the series. Halo 1 has been my favorite game since I can remember, and I've pretty much been playing it since day one. It took a long time for it to sink in, but I'm now officially angry that so many millions of people are out, standing in line, eating, playing Halo 2 tournaments, screwing around, missing school and work tomorrow, when I won't be. I should really just chill out though becuz...

I played it yesterday. :o

That's right. The beastly beast of a beast brother of mine has done it again. His store got in their copies of Halo 3, and we went down to Chris's house down the street to play it. It. Was. Fantastic.

First I played single player for about a half hour. I found this to be all I had hoped. Traditional Halo gameplay, amazing graphics, great guns, and just plain fun. One cool thing: Methane tanks on Grunts finally explode when struck. Another cool thing: Pistol. I finally used the pistol and I loved it. One bad thing: AR uses ammo much too fast for my taste. I should know this from the Beta, but those Grunts need shooting and I can't be wasting time reloading! :P

Then we played multiplayer for...enh...about four or five hours. We screwed around with Forge for at least an hour by itself, played on basically all the maps, and also started toying with instant replay. It was awesome. And while it's incredibly depressing that millions of people will be playing it before me...in actuality, we played it before millions of people :P In the matchmaking screen, you could see how many players were online total, and how many had logged in online at any point in time. The total number of people who had ever logged in was less than 400. 400 people before millions. We were part of them. Fair deal, I'd say.

So yeah, it was great, probabaly will end up topping Halo 1 in my book, and you guys will hear more on my reactions to the game probabaly on Wednsday, when a bunch of my friends and Kyle and Chris will be working something out with online, whether its co-op or multi or not depends on who ends up playing and where they are. Anyway, for those of you going/at the Halo 3 lines, have fun with it. I know I would. To the rest of you who can't go, can't play it even if you could (like me) or don't have an Xbox, it looks like it's gonna be a long night for us.

Until next time I've been...well...you guys know :P

A tad bit of news, and a blatant rip off of Sponge's list

So we'll start with soccer first and get it out of the way.

The other day at practice, we scrimmaged our girl's varsity team. Not only are they varsity, but they're B conference when we're only C. That said...we played a good game...

And actually won 3-0. Huge surprise, and to be honest we could'should have done even better. That's a trend growing increasingly popular in our games...

...Such as Friday's game. Our first true, league game. We played a team with some people on it I knew who I direly want back (they're both really good). The teams were ridiculously evenly matched. We lost, 1-0. Their one goal was an indirect kick, which can only count as a goal if it touches any number of players before it goes in. Stupidly enough, someone on our wall backed away and let the ball right through, our goalie couldn't see, and the ball went right in. But it never touched anyone.

So they won. Annoying...but hey, it happens. Our first loss :( I talked to my friends after the game and both of them laughed and said, "You guys totally should have won. Your offense sucked, but our whole TEAM sucked." Story of my life.

Anyway, here's my anticipated list. This is games first, and then other things such as books and movies after.

Clocking in at #1 is...

Halo 3.

Yup, that one. Promising gameplay, sure to be epic single player, always awesome multiplayer, incredible graphics, and if nothing else, finally finishing the storyline. I could go on and on, but why do I need to? Number one game of the year, and probably of all time. Yeah. I'm serious.

#2 Super Smash Bros. Brawl

New characters, items, maps, game modes, options, tweaks, graphics, controls, online...Why describe this game? It could be the worst game ever and everyone would still buy it. Not that it will be...oh no, far from it.

After those two, there are a lot, so these from now on are in no order.

Super Mario Galaxy

Yeah this game I'm not super excited about, but if it's half as good as it's said to be then I'll surely check it out. The controls and the premise both sound like they could be screwed up, but Nintendo knows better than that. Either way, it looks pretty and makes big promises, so here's to hoping.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

If ever a game was as underhyped as Metroid Prime 3 was for so long, it would be this one. IT'S FREAKING ZELDA, PEOPLE! I cannot wait for this game. For a while, the controls sounded unspectacular, the game appeared rather boring, and it looked like it might get tossed onto shelves with potential but no real delivery. Not anymore. The Wind Wakerization is back, and I for one am grasping my heart to make sure it's still beating. It sounds like it's going to be fantastic, and it's about time the DS got a Zelda anyways. Bring it on Nintendo, here's one fan who's biting his nails in anticipation.

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

Holy crap guys. This game is graphically stunning, plays incredibly, and is on the 360 which automatically means it's better :P No but seriously, the online sounds sweet too, and it's Ace Combat dude. Photorealistic Ace Combat. I could not be more excited to fly fighter jets in a game. And this thing looks pretty awesome too...

Batallion Wars 2

I loved the first BW game, as well as the GBA Advance Wars games. The cute visual ****belies the brooding process of planning out and executing your moves in these games, and with Wii controls and the oh-so-desperately needed (online) multiplayer, this one is sure to be a keeper. Keep your eyes peeled.

Call of Duty 4

I've been a fan, not fanatic, of CoD games since the first one on PC. 2 and 3 were fairly good, with great graphics but in my opinion only sub par gameplay, this one is finally putting the franchise where it belongs--in the gritty, modern setting of today's battles. I can't remember the last time I played a true, epic first person action game of modern war. Tom Clancy games aren't what I mean, nor are WWII shooters. I'm talking games like Black where it's got big outdoor enviornments, action oriented, more grunt based warfare with real guns and real settings. Those games are surprisingly hard to come by, with the only other one coming to mind being Battlefield 2 which I never had the privelage to enjoy. These things alone make this one worth waiting for, and the awesome graphics and multiplayer can't hurt either.

Splinter Cell: Conviction

Believe it or not, this game is supposedly coming out this year. For those of you wandering what makes it look good...Imagine a game where you can interact with any object you want to. Now imagine the hundreds of unique ways of interacting with these objects, and how you can use them to hurt people. You're just barely beginning to taste what this game has to offer, aside from gorgeous graphics and the always awesome Splinter Cell things. But what happened to the stealth? Well...let's say a fifth game of sneaking around could only be so entertaining..change is good, right?

So basically, that's it for games. To be honest, I bet there's more out there I forgot to add on. Maybe I will come back and add more later if I remember. But that just goes to show you how many good games out there I want...

In terms of everything else, we have:

300 on DVD

I was allowed to see it in theatres...but there's a possibility I won't be able to purchase or receive it personally, it might end up needing to be bought by Kyle, who said he got so tired of it after watching it 3 times in theatres that he didn't even plan on buying it at all. Which is completely ludicrous, but if he's serious then I'm screwed...probabaly. The same thing happened with V for Vendetta...he never bought that...:|

Transformers DVD

This movie was sweet guys. I can't wait to see it again, beause there was apprently a lot of things I missed that other people I talked to caught on to. I also need to slo-mo some of the transformations in this movie to truly appreciate the labor ILM put into them. :D

Spiderman 3 on DVD

Every day that goes by, I find more and more people who didn't like this movie.

.........

Well forget them.

Pirates 3 on DVD

I lol'ed at this picture. To be honest with you all, I never saw this movie...:( So my chance is when it hits DVD :)

Books......

Halo: Contact Harvest

Halo books rock. Johnson rocks. Books explaining how Covies met humans? Awesome. Written by the guy who voices Grunts in Halo games?

......Fantastic.

Halo: Uprising

Written by Brian Michael Bendis of Ultimate Spiderman Fame, these books link the last two Halo games together and sound pretty sweet. Once Christmas rolls around, I'll pick these four comics up if I haven't by then.

Music:

Just one. A CD you've never heard of by a band you've never heard of possibly a genre you've never even heard of.

It's called Somewhere In the Between, by Streetlight Mainfesto, who plays ska music. A CD promised to us a long time ago, they're finally releasing it this November and it's gonna be radically awesome duuuuude.

Anyway, to close, I'd like anyone who's eyes aren't hurting to direct them to this little thing :D Night 'fellas, and have good weeks and such.

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Soccer again, and Metroid is OVER! Or, Corruption at least.

So I actually have a few things to talk about in this blog.

First on the list would be soccer. Today we played a school that was supposed to beat us by a lot. They're supposed to be pretty good in all sports. But sure enough, we tied 1-1 in overtime. Both teams only scored off a PK (penalty kick for those of you who don't know). Otherwise, we were too evenly matched to get any other goals. To be completely honest, there were at LEAST five distinct opportunities for us to score that didn't happen, but that seems to have been the story with every game we've played so far. So currently our record is 2-0-2, two wins, two ties. Should be an interesting season if we've tied or beaten three schools that were supposed to beat us.

Coming out two weeks from today is Halo 3. Pretty sweet, right? I can't believe it's finally here. I'd be more stoked for it, scratch that, ecstatic, except for...I'm not. I'm so chill about it. It's been in the works so long, and it looks like it'll deliver the good so well that...I just don't bother hyping it or getting excited. If I die of happiness playing it...it'll be the most silent, content death ever.

......But wait. My Xbox is still broken. But alas, not all is lost. Or maybe it is.

What happened was the kiss of death and a Godsend at the same time. My Xbox officially got the red ring of death! Yay!

"Why yay, meleeman?" says you.

"That's an easy one," I reply. See, now that I *officially* have the red ring, there's no screwing around in the repair process. I just say, "HEY MS I GOT TEH DEATH RING NEW XBOX NAO!" The problem is, the box to ship it back to them hasn't even arrived yet, the repair processing takes about two weeks, and then however long to get it back. So.......there's an incredibly slim chance I will be playing Halo 3 anywhere close to the launch day. That sort of sucks, seeing how I would say with some confidence that it's one of the single most looked forward to days of my life so far. Call me a geek, nerd, anti social, introverted, having mixed up priorities, I don't care. But the first Halo was the main thing that kicked off my serious gaming days, and it's shaped my view of good and bad things in terms of books, games, and more. Everything is compared to Halo as far as how much I like it, how much time out of my life it gets, or just plain how good it is. I get a new game. How good is this game? Well, let's compare it to the original Halo. See? Halo is one of my favorite things on this Earth, and the final Halo game to tie up the wonderful series is going to be a very, very big event. I love Halo, and I want to play the third one ASAP. :( I mean it's bad enough I had to wait on Metroid for like five days and I have yet to play Bioshock at all becuz the Xbox wasn't working.

Metroid! That's right!! I beat it!!! Four exclamation marks now!!!!

Basically, it was sweet. Absolutely sweet. Ahem...
The last planet was pretty awesome. I loved the permanent Hyper Mode thing, that was very interesting to me. It gave more time to look at the subtleties of your appreance in Hyper mode, and gave me more time to use things like the Hyper Ball and Hyper Missile. The last boss was pretty cool too. But that was NOT MOTHER BRAIN. WHOEVER SAID IT WAS MOTHER BRAIN NEEDS TO BE SLAPPED. IT WAS AN AU. NOT. THE. SAME. THING. But yeah so the ending was pretty awesome too. I hunted down every item for 100% completion, and I'm glad I did. At first, the ending where Samus magically made it off the planet and shoots the Commander that great message was pretty sweet, and I loved Samus sitting at Sky Town reminicing about the other Hunters. The way they illuminated her hair in that sunlight was wicked. But they never explained what exactly happened to the Hunters to turn them all agaisnt Samus. It had something to do with Dark Samus but they never explained what she did...But I was disappointed that there was no full suitless action like there was in Prime 2. It perplexed me that the quality of the endings woud go downhill. Content though, I watched the credits and looked at my final ratings screen when the ending CONTINUED! Sure enough, Samus was there in suitless glory. She looked pretty good, I must say. Also, who was that ship that followed Samus!!?? I'd guess it looked like Sylux...but... You never know.
To close, I'd just like to say, read my Halo story! It's really good and no one read it from it's posting in my last blog. So...here's the link.

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Some soccer updates and Metroid progress UPDATED

Hello everyone. It's me, meleeman, back again for another slightly sarcastically written update on my slightly uneventful life. Sound fun?

.........

.....You tell me...

So over the course of three days, I had two games, both agaisnt public schools. What's the significance of that? Well public schools are huge, and have more people to choose from, so should get the cream of the crop, right?

Apparently not.

As it would happen, we tied the first game after overtime and won today's game 2-0. They were a decent team, and I've known some of the players since way back, but they prolly didn't recognize me like I recognized them. I'm good like that :P But yeah so I didn't play goalie today, but I'm actually glad about that. Jared played goalie the whole game and touched the ball twice. Twice. So I played....*mumbles* midfield. Again. WHY, WHY must you put me in middie? Oh wait, it's becuz our defense is unbeleiveably good and our offense needs to be made of our best offenders as much as possible or we don't score anything :P So I got stuck in the middle ground, no pun intended. I actually did quite a bit, and made two or three very good plays that didn't amount to anything in the end. I just hope this midfield thing doesn't become a trend :( Well...I dunno...maybe if I had better endurance I'd ENJOY midfield. Most middies I know play it becuz they like it. *shrug*

Anyway, my first week of school is over. At first, I hated my schedule almost entirely and was not looking forward to the year, but as I go on I realize that it is actually going to be very good for me. By period, we have:

Health-Semester one, Gym semester two (so I haven't had it yet and won't for a while): Health is usually a class I don't like for the teacher and for the material being boring. But what I always was told about our health teacher is she's all nice and happy as the year starts, but by the end she's grouchy and whatnot. And I always had her fourth quarter  Now it's the beginning of the year and she isn't so bad. I think she likes me more than I like her...

Algebra II- FINALLY. A teacher who is capable of...teaching. I had no problem with the guy who taught me math last year, but I did pretty badly in his class becuz in my opinion, he didn't teach well. Now, I have the teacher both my older brothers adore, and I can see why they do. She is extremely thorough in every single aspect of her class, and gets so many of the little things right in how she runs her class and what she expects us to do. I think my math grades are going to improve drastically this year.

History- I can tell you all something right now...I am going to love this class. The teacher is one of the funniest people I have ever met. He loved both my older brothers and knows I'm able to be picked on all the time and be a good sport about it, as well as shooting back some stuff of my own. He keeps telling me how much he loves having me in class so he can relentlessly make jokes about me...and I don't care. He's hilarious, and he teaches pretty straight-forwardly too.

Biology- I keep hearing good things about the teacher, and so far I neither like him nor dislike him. We haven't done a whole lot in his class that relies on his ability to teach yet, so I can't tell if he's going to make the material understandable or not.

Then there's a change- I eat lunch with the upper classmen now. Middle schoolers and 9th graders eat in one lunch, and 10th through 12th graders eat in their own lunch. Well becuz of my weird fifth period class, I eat lunch with the upper classmen. This is bittersweet- I miss most of my friends now, but the school actually moved some people into this one so we wouldn't feel so alone :( So now I get to eat with Steve after all :)

So then Spanish II- I hear awful things about the teacher, and I heard that the guy who taught Spanish I doesn't teach it well enough so when everyone goes to Spanish II they suck. So far, the teacher seems fine and being lost doesn't seem to be the case either.. Hope that doesn't change...

Bible- Interesting class, good teacher. Might end up being hard though...and I don't realy like anyone in the class but the teacher :|

English- Not much to say here. I've missed two of four classes this week, so I've only had the teacher twice. That said, she doesn't seem bad or anything. Might change my mind later, but so far so good.

So that's my school day. Interesting. Sort of.

In gaming news, Halo 3 comes out soon, and Metroid is wrapping itself up. With so much soccer, I haven't gotten much playing time, but I just beat the last Leviathan boss and have the last thing I need to do (those of you out there who are that far know what I mean). Also, I'm going to look for that Chozo observatory place cuz I'm very determined to see the 100% ending on my first try.

So that's pretty much it I think. Can't think of anything else, so...

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

[UPDATE]

I was bored today and wanted to write something, so Matt told me to write a Halo story. It's relatively short, very good, and I think you guys will enjoy it, especially Halo fans. Here's a link to the Google Docs page. Enjoy!

Story

Would it be an absolute cliche to do a, OMG school tomorrow blog?

School starts tomorrow for me. I'm pretty bummed. The incoming frshman class is more than double the size it was last year, and getting to see the new people last week at the retreat has unfortunately left me wanting more out of most of them. That and, these new people who I don't like very much are taking up space in all my classes that could be my good friends. There's a few people who I haven't talked to about schedules...but right now the number of good friends in my classes last year is more then doulbe the amount of good friends in classes with me this year. Makes sense though, right?

Anyway, I'm very rapidly progressing in MP3. I pwn the socks off of it and so far I'm LOVING what they've done to this game. In terms of the first game, there was very, very little I didn't LIKE about the first, but still some stuff. But, there was nothing I wished would be CHANGED. In this one, there is quite literally nothing I would change about it so far. I wouldn't make an assumption yet, but my definition for a perfect game was always, "The game you play where absolutely nothing needs to be changed about it. It is absolutely perfect in every way." This is why I roll my eyes at many GS users to just slap tens around, and why GS has only given out like 4. Either way, so far I'm in love with Prime 3 and nothing to me needs to be changed. One of my favorite things is how early on you end up getting things like Grapple Beam and Screw Attack, becuz they're always items you get late into the game and don't end up using as much. Now, they get plenty of action, and it's fantastic.

Anyway, I just found out Ben is farther than me so instead of blogging more I'm just gonna go ahead and play. Yup. Bye guys. Happy hunting and such.

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Hey all, quick update.

So I got back from North Bay. All in all it was a good trip. I could go into detail, but I really don't feel like it :P

Metroid Prime 3 is getting lots of attention lately. GS's review was utter bull, as I expected (I predicted the score, I predicted it would get no demerits, and I predicted they would find really tiny and stupid things wrong with it). It's funny too, becuz like the Twilight Princess fiasco, GS and IGN's reviews conflicted on serveral points (mostly GS being negative, while IGN is positive), and on both counts IGN was right in my eyes. I'm starting to seriously distrust GS's reviews, and Halo 3 and Brawl will be the last two remaining tipping points before I throw out all trust for their reviews entirely or if they can redeem themselves I'll still take their reviews into consideration.

But who the heck cares? Now that I'm back, I picked it up and just played for just over two hours straight. I could go into lots of detail, telling you or reiterating to you things you've already heard, but I won't. I'm just going to say, it lived up to and surpassed every expectation I had for it and has pleasantly surprised me on many seperate occasions already. It's awesome, fantastic, and completely worthy of tying off the Metroid Prime series. I look forward to playing more. The only perplexing thing is that I'm, like I said, over two hours in, scanning every single thing I can and looking for any clues, and have yet to find any sort of missile expansion. I just landed on Bryyo for the first time before I stopped, so if any of you reading this are there yet, have any of you found missile expansions yet?

Also, I just thought I'd let you all know that I'll resume catching up on your blogs starting with the next post for each of you. I could go back and read every single blog right now, but it's a lot and I really don't feel like it :P

........Wow that really was short, wasn't it? I suppose I could have rambled on about the trip for a while but.....nah, I'm not in the mood.

Oh and one more thing. I caught up on the latest Brawl updates from when I was gone. That game is lookin' good in every meaning of the phrase. ;) Can't wait for it. December 3rd...

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

Ok who am I kidding. The category variation is going to wait. For a long time.

So meleeman is back for another Generally categorized blog. Strap yourselves in, I'm covering a lot.

Wait, I am? I dunno, we'll see when I'm done...

First thing:

Soccer! Our first game already happened  That was fast, right? Anyway, we drove 45 minutes to our first game, where we absolutely pwned the other team 4-0. Jared played goalie for all but the last three and a half minutes of the game. He had two saves and only touched the ball three times (the other was just a pass to him). That shows you how much we dominated that game. At halftime, the score was 3-0, and when we started up the second half coach wanted 2 or 3 more goals before putting me in (not that in any event I could have possibly lost our lead). After only scoring one more goal, our coach put me in with three and a half minutes to go. In that very short time, I actually saved a free kick and came close to being the one who saved the subsequent corner kick (someone else beat me to it). So in those short three and a half minutes, I did almost as much as Jared did in the rest of the game! :P What was also cool was when picking out uniforms, I wound up with number 1. It wasn't planned, but it was one of the numbers left when I got to pick and I took it. What's cooler though, was the goalie jersey I wore when I went in was orange and short sleeved (awesome and awesome) and it had number 1 on the back, so it was unintentionally my number! ^.^ Funny how these things go. I'll keep you all posted on future soccer scores and such.

Second thing: METROID PRIIIIIIIIMEEE!!!!!!!! A lot of people are psyched for this game, but I'm undoubtedly the biggest Metroid fan I know of. Don't you dare argue that either  I've written freaking books-in-progress about Metroid, ok??!! So I just got back from Gamestop for preordering/paying off Metroid Prime 3 and the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to do the same for Brawl and I said sure why not. So now Brawl and Metroid are mine when they come out :) I also was hoping to encounter the Corruption demo on my journey, but no such luck. Also, it just hit me that I should have bought some Wii points there as I have never gotten any and have many VC titles I want, but I spent 104 dollars so it's probabaly good I forgot

Also, I was very bored today and decided to play through Metroid Prime for the 182865483939th time. Upon realizing that after all these years, I'd never done Hard Mode, I decided to give a whack at it, and instead, I'm giving a frikking bombing run to it. The increased difficulty is barely a noticeable difference becuz I know the game inside and out, but you can tell some of the bosses/mini bosses take a lot more punishment than normal. No matter. I'm recovering all the items back at breakneck pace. Soon the game will crumple.

I don't talk about TV much in my blogs, do I?

Lately I've been watching my favorite show ever, Cowboy Bebop, on DVD via the laptop. That show is simply awesome. Other stuff I've been watching lately consists of: Burn Notice (highly recommend it), Psych (highly recommend it), Monk (highly recommend it), and of course, Family Guy (so highly recommended that if any of you reading this blog haven't seen it before, you should just go rent some on DVD right now and watch it)

In other random news...

My Xbox is going to be fixed soon so I can play Bioshock. I'm trying to be as patient as I can with it...

Halo 3 comes out soon. Did you all know that?

Oh now I remembered the other important thing I wanted to say. To kick off high school, I'm going on a retreat much like the ones we go on twice a year with church (to the same place I went last spring, by the way). We leave the day Corruption comes out, which sucks, but I'll have all weekend to play it when we get back. I know I've covered all that before, but I'm counting on you guys to not be able to keep up with the daily life of a guy you don't know personally, so I'm restating it all anyway. Anyway, yeah, that's where I'll be for four days. Some of you lately are blogging your freaking hearts out, so try to chill out on blogging twice a day while I'm gone, ok?

Until next time, I've been irmeleeman5995, and that's a mouthful to say!

For the first time in a while, I have some interesting news so...

K so, once again, away from the category mixing :)

First: Soccer- Made JV soccer. That in and of itself is a long story, with a two day tryout extending to five days. Basically, here's the skinny. There's five goalies. Me, my friend Steve, and my friend Nate, all freshmen. Then there's a sophomore named Jared, and a senior named Matt. Matt, due to said senior status, can only play varisty. Steve and Nathan, who have made varsity, are both said to be better goalies than Matt. Which, if true, would mean Matt simply wouldn't make varisty this year, and me and Jared would be the JV goalies while Steve and Nathan played varsity. However, if Matt DOES make Varsity, one of the other two (most likely Nate, but that isn't the point) would be bumped down to JV, most likely removing me from said JV team. Make any sense? Either way, this simply means that until the vacationing Matt returns and tries out tomorrow, I will not know if my JV goalie status will stay or if I'll get bumped off. At this point, I don't care what happens either way.

Second: Laptop- A few of you may not have been following the tragedy, so here's another short version of a long story. Basically, my brother Josh broke the tip of our laptop's charger. Luckily, it's one of the chargers with interchangeable tips for different devices/types of devices, so all we needed to do was simply order a replacement tip, cheaper than ordering a whole new charger. Well that was three months ago. Three. Months. That's pretty annoying, right? Finally, tired of waiting, we stopped into Radio Shack thinking they might have the part there. They didn't, but said it was in stock at their warehouse and could be sent straight to our house within a week's time. Three days later, bam. It's here. So this blog is coming via laptop :D I'm so happy. For those of you who don't see what the big deal is, I have three seperate projects being worked on on this laptop (a comic I'm making that I may talk about later, a comedy, and something else secret), plus one thing that I wanted to do over the summer via laptop but couldn't (it was the third Metroid story, but the other keyboard is kind of annoying for long bouts of typing becuz the space bar is stubborn). So there you have it. My laptop is working:!:

Third: Metroid- Almost here! Counting down the days!! Er...well, I have to go on a retreat the day it comes out, but after THAT it's all mine!!!!! Everything I hear about it makes it sound better and better. The hype for this game was kind of absent, making me start to wonder how good this game would really turn out, but it's starting to look as good as it ought to, so I now slap myself for ever having doubted the awesomeness of Metroid 8)

Four: Halo 3- Another thing that I keep hearing loads and loads of good news about! Where is this game???!!!!

And five: Brawl- The daily updates are making me drool! I can. Not. Wait. For this game.

Oh and actually, there is a six: My Xbox 360- Being sent in for freezing. I unfortunately will not be able to experience the alleged awesomeness that is Bioshock. This was a game that sounded....interesting....the kind that was maybe cool but a little on the weird side, but everything I've heard about it lately makes it sound absolutely sick. Can't wait for the Xbox to work, cuz then BAM Bioshock, then after that, BAM Metroid :) Between those two, I should be more than occupied enough until Halo 3

So yeah. NEXT blog I sort of hope maybe promise that I'll go on with the cateory variation, and I purposely went into a lot this blog to make sure I wouldn't be covering a lot later. Yup. That's all for now.
