So... two of the BEST RPGs released in YEARS (Mass Effect and The Witcher) both score 8.5 here on GS. These two games really elevate the RPG genre to the next-gen YET games like Halo 3, CoD 4 and random shooters which by a small increment improve the shooter genre get 9+ scores.

I don't really care about the score since I've played both games and I know they are awesome. Though it's kinda funny to see that RPG's constantly get berated for poor performance (as in FPS and texture) when it is obvious that when you create an RPG you put so much work into making it an RPG that you don't have the time which is blessed on FPS games where SP is really tacked on.

Btw, you can run the game at max settings with the recommended system specs. I run the game most on high on my laptop and looks beautiful.

I don't know why people complain about the combat system, I think it's pretty good once you get used to it. It's all about rythm.

Heh, I'm 20. I know it can seem childish to post in the manner that I did, though it was to be more of a joke than a serious post. I found this out after I decided to get the game (for it's long SP and good story).

nah seriously im definately thinking about it. alot of mags say that integrated does the job but the one i have is giving me probs. its a 7.1 sound chip (well its a chip but it isnt if u know what i mean) but whenever i try and play games using 5.1, the sound doesent come out of some of the speekers, only the woofer. ive tripple checked my setup (plugs and software wise) and it doesent improve anything. the speakers are fine in media player n stuff...but for games its a no go. so im seriously thinking about it. however theres that whole vista mess at the mo regarding soundcards so i wanna see how that pans out before taking the plunge. i knows theres stuff like alchemy but there not 100% at the mo.

I have a Creative X-Fi Gamer. I know creative is slow at releasing drivers, however. Regardless the card is leaps and bounds over the sound quality that is integrated on MB's. Plus the soundcard really takes load off a processor, better sound requires more processing power. I think you can get one for $70-$80...

I wouldn't straight up say go buy the European version because it's uncensored, coz if you're sensitive to that stuff, best go out and buy the U.S version.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to this game coming out here. I'm anticipating this much more than Mass Effect.
