Well... I didn't aspect to be deflated by todays livestream, but here we are.
I'm one of the OG CoD fans, before all the wall running and jet packs... Basically, this CoD is suppose to be for OG fans, and so far, i hope the campaign is just like the trailer, more of a gritty, R6s vibe. the shit they showed today feels dated. Hopefully multiplayer killstreaks and a larger map will jazz things up... At least for now, just play cs:go
@danielsonsxe: Disney didn't make those films, but episode 3 did dismemberment the best, especially Count Dooku losing his head at the beginning. There doesn't need to be blood in the SWU.
I will say regarding the "Family friendly" line... I remember when netflix was cancelling the Marvel netflix shows left and right (because Disney+ is coming) then when punisher was axed, a lot of people were upset, because its all but guaranteed punisher, dare devil, luke cage, pretty much all netflix marvel shows + deadpool won't be coming back (until Disney waters them down) because of their "family friendly" nature. Once Disney caught wind of the upset, one of the higher ups (president or marketing exec, don't remember) said, "not to worry, Disney knows fans want an adult alternative, and that they are still committed on bringing these characters back"
Yeah, right.....
As for the game, it looks horrible, and the main character looks..................... Feminine. And not in a good way, if you know what i mean. I personally would have liked to see a different species jedi or sith as the playable character
@just1mohr: for me, even if MS had the best first party games, i would still own a ps4/5/6 ect. Reason being, Sony, regardless of how long their around, will still have exclusives worth playing. Its 1 of only 2 reasons why i own all platforms, with the only other reason being, I don't like being "locked out" from playing any game i want.
I use ps4 for games like last of us, spiderman, bloodborne, god of war ect.
The pc for my graphics and framerates
XB1X for playing with friends (that don't either have a beefy rig or don't own a pc)
And last but certainly not least, my switch... to relive my childhood (or long travels)
@fluxed_up: I agree with the marketing, but everything else sounds like you don't watch much indy wrestling... Tag team wrestling is real big in the indy scene, reason being, there is so much competition for matches (face time in front of an audience, or for bigger indies, screen time) not everyone gets a chance, so what a lot of the guys will do is form "tag teams" because you can get twice as many faces in front of an audience or camera in about the same amount of time as a singles match, and more wrestlers can get exposure. Its the reasoning behind battle royales (The Buy-in preshow) all the preshow matches before each WWE PPV, royal rumble ect.
And revolution or not, its definitely some of the best wrestling we've had in a long time with the only televized exception being ROH. Mix that with a multi-billionaire that already went on record saying if AEW is successful, he has no problem investing further, and with the success of last nights show... I think we'll get our revolution.
Keep in mind this hasn't happened in nearly 20 years and the Monday night wars (billionaire ted tuner and WCW) AEW hasn't even had its first show yet (double or nothing was a PPV) and yet they have a major TV deal with TNT (the same channel WCW was on) that in itself is unheard of for a wrestling promotion since WCW.
Just give it time, the action is already hands down better than anything on WWE tv
@popcrat: i agree with everything you said, except for the NXT formula part... WWE took that "formula" from just about every indie in the last 2 decades... Its the reason why NXT has the success it has. If only the main shows would follow the same lead, but the writers are trash on raw and smackdown.
Great PPV. I loved seeing Bret support AEW, he rarely comes state side anymore.
Goldust bouched blade job was messy, but NOT unwanted... Theres proper ways of doing it. To his credit, he hasn't had to "give color" in a long time... He just over did it. Lol. Again NOT unwanted... If you want a PG product, go watch WWE. I will say, i never really cared for the Goldust gimmick or Dustin Rhodes for that matter, but after his match tonight with his brother cody, i have a new respect for him, and their dad would be proud.
The bucks were probably the best match of the night for me. Fenix and pentagon jr were amazing also
I loved jerichos "different eras" entrance, finishing with his latest judas era, and him facing the camera with his arm out, slightly hanging.
I actually really enjoyed the kip vs sammy match. Probably my third favorite match
And Moxley (Dean Ambrose) showing up was pretty cool, but to be fair, i was never really a Ambrose fan... And his finisher is lazy looking and weak... He needs to leave Ambrose behind, and that includes the shitty ddt, dirty deeds. That being said, i do like the set up for him vs kenny.
All in all, it was a great PPV, DEFINITELY better than anything WWE has put out in a awhile. I can't wait for Tuesday Night Dynomite
Plain and simple from me... I liked EVERY episode, of EVERY season... Except for episodes 1,2 & 6 of the last season 8. It seems to me the HBO Boss is just trying to save ratings, rather than comment on the thousands of complaints about nearly the same thing (it kinda sucked lol)
All i know is, for me, after 2 years of waiting, We received a "reunion" episode 1... What left me feeling like "Here's a carrot, Now wait another week! (before you can eat it)" next week rolls around, I'm like "Finally, some carrot. I'm so hungry!" then after we all find out that we got another filler "Last night on earth" episode 2.
Its not saying there wasn't some nice parts to each episode... Just largely a waste of time (for the final season, especially with just 6 episodes)
Now episodes 3,4 & 5 were pretty decent, with my only major complaint being killing off the night king too soon. I believe it would have been better to save him for last (as the biggest threat) Arya killing him was cool, but by the 5th episode, they kinda made her character not as "bad ass"
And last, the final episode... It was all over the place, but my biggest WTF moment is when Bran becomes King, and Jon F'N Ti-garyen ends up with a boot up his ass back to where he started. Lol funny, but upsetting for the final episode.
All in all, great series IMO just the last season (especially after 2 years of waiting and extra especially because it is the last season) could have been better.
Not to take away from all of the actors hard work... After all, they are all reading a script, not writing it.
Oh well, its not the first time I've been disappointed, and it won't be the last.
You can get an S (with the disc drive) for like $150 on eBay right now. I don't think buying a console (or building a pc) without a disc drive is smart. PC gamers will say they don't need them, and just take up extra space in a rig. Console gamers might say "I don't use disc, i buy all digital"
The fact is, we live in a digital era, but we are not all to far from physical media as some may think. How many people still have music CDs, or a DVD/Blu-ray collection?! If you didn't have a disc drive, you'll just end up having to repurchase the same content digitally.
Personally, for me, If its in my hands, its real. If i can enjoy the box art, its real. If i can resale, its real.
Eventually it will happen, but rules on the resale of digital media would have to change (at least for this physical gamer) Took decades for VHS to go away... Before that, we had betamax and A-Tracks... It will still be a while off before digital is the norm.
