i been bad

Yesterday in a fit of rage i went on a small rant about how stupid a certain someone was. Im really sick of people making flatout fanboy posts on the news pages. Somebody sued sony so this guy is slewing a bunch of **** about how the ps3 sucks and the 360 is king, blah blah blah. So i ripped into him. Honestly it wasn't even that bad. I got a message from gamespot saying i had broken the terms of service. I gotta tell you, i never read the terms of service, but they should add something to it that says no spamming. Because every single news comments section is filled with a bunch of retard comments that have nothing to do with the news story. The fact that i get busted for voicing the opinion of every meaningful member of this community while there are a ton of idiots spammng all over this site is BS.

E3 wrapup part 1

Ok no doubt that the Sony won the battle of the press conferences. But they had no real competition.

For me the best shooter on the floor wasn't Halo. Or even close to being Halo. Halo looks exactly like Halo looked 3 years ago, I've had enough of it. KillZone 2 looks spectacular. You never know with unproven franchises but if they can back them visuals with som-a dat dare gameplay stuff; then Sony could easily take the king of shooters prize from MS. In second for me was CoD 4. This game just looks awesome. Stelth mixed with action, and then throw in some crazy cool visuals and you get one hell of a game. And Number 3 goes to Uncharted for making me want that game more and more every time I see it.

I put a little number 1 up in the title cause Im sure I'll talk about more later.

The Resistant Update

Ok there are definately pros and cons to this update.

Global rosters are great but it is very difficult to find foreign people online.

The maps are fun but its difficult to get good games on them. The new ranked matchtype "map pack mania" not only has a stupid name but it also gives you a whole bunch of free for allls and not many objective based games. And just like every other map since this game released trying to find a custom game will only give you a whole bunch of one-hit kill bs.

The disappearance of the Chimera vs Chimera ranked matches is incredibly welcome since those matches inevitably turned into gigantic shotgun wars in which it was nearly impossible to maintain a high kill/death ratio.

They have introduced a system that punishes people for quitting early. This seems like a good idea but in reality I think it will lead to people overusing Sony letting us make an ulimited number of accounts. As people will constantly be changing names to avoid low k/d's.

There are also a bunch of other little tweaks that I may or may not talk about later.

Waiting no more Rainbow Six Review

I have been waiting for Rainbow Six Vegas to hit PS3 since the first time it got delayed. That was before the PS3 in November. I suffered through a good 7+ continued delays and more that 8 months later the game hits stores.

I haven't played Rainbow Six since RB6:3 came out on PS3 so I'll be doing a lot of comparing to that game.

Graphically the game is stunning. Envirnments look lilke photos. The lighting is spectacular and the characters look great.

Gameplay is difficult (but not too much) and unique (at least for me it seemed fresh). Unlike SOCOM and other tactical games, including previous versions of RB6. You're not constantly being briefed and then inserting into new areas. It is more like several long missions with well spaced checkpoints. The first person prospective works very well.

AI in this game is the best I have ever seen. Your teamates don't feel like extra liabilities. They conduct orders realistically, such as spliting a room in two as they clear it (one controls one side while the other controls the other side. The enemies aren't stupid. They'll try to flank you. They actually come running when they here gunfire, and they will often take the first shot at you.

There are a few single player annoiances however. The biggest one for me is that the voices of teamates and command are very soft and incredibly difficult to hear. There may be a setting to fix this but I haven't really looked for it yet. This makes it incredibly difficult to understand the plot, as that is the only way it is conveyed to you. Also from the little I could hear the voice acting is terrible.

Multiplayer. A word that can make or break a game. And for Rainbow Six it does both. Actually fighting in Rainbow Six online is unbelievably fun. But the navigation to get to a game is painful and seems broken. You can choose to search from a very few number of settings and the game will simply put you in game which is very annoying. I much prefer getting a list of games fitting your search criteria, such as in Resistance and Halo, and then choosing your game. I don't think this would be too difficult to fix and add in, in a future update. Most of the people I've talked to in game agree with me 100% on this. Also I do not like how this game requires a host for games. I don't exactly know how it works so forgive me if I say something dumb. But in Resistance there are dedicated servers so your game expirience isn't dedicated to the speed and strength of your host's connection. I believe that curing the navigation issue and a few other little things could definately make RB6V a better online game then Resistance but right now it isn't.

Exclusive-ish

So today I learned of several interesting bits of info concerning two huge games. Unreal Tournament 3 was confirmed to be a PS3 timed exclusive today and I learned of OXM saying that AceCombat 6 (one of my favorite series in the world) would be an XBOX timed exclusive.

Now looking through the eyes of a majority of gamers this seems almost like a trade. UT3 for AC6. And for most gamers it would appear that that Sony definitely got the better deal. I mean for most Unreal is a much bigger name than Ace Combat. For me however it is a little fuzzy. AC6 has yet to be confirmed for the PS3 so that frightens me. I love Ace Combat it is a fun, arcade style action game that takes place at 20,000 feet. It also is usually driven by a great story that is told in very unique ways. What's not to like. In fact the only thing I dislike about the games is that it takes me less than a week to beat them. On the other hand UT3 has climbed its way close to the top of my most wanted list. So for me it is a draw in which I neither win nor lose, unless AC6 doesn't ever come to PS3 then I lose big.

random thoughts of the day

Fallout 3 looks awesome from the little I've seen. I hope it comes to PS3 cause my poor computer can't handle it.

Assassin's creed hits november, ****ing sweet.

Sony is pissing me off. It is 6:00 pm on the west coast and the resistance update still isn't out.

the next sim city isn't being made by Maxis? does that mean they are workin double time on spore? Please say yes.

Oblivion is an amazing game.

Why the hell does Rainbow six keep getting delayed?!

I hate the wind in Las Vegas, it knocked over my damn tree.

A chainsaw is a truly awesome machine. (discovery directly related to the previous thought ^)

LeBron is going to get owned tonight.

I can't wait for TRANSFORMERS!

Ocean's Thirteen should be good.

I love Jack in the Box.

Online feature I've been thinking about

Sony needs an answer to achievement points and gamerscore. The home trophies are cool but inconveinant not as accessible as my gamerscore is 1254 or whatever.

Here's my ideas I'd love some either criticism or suggestion or comments on it.

Make it like an MMO. Each game has a certain number (we'll say 7) of goals. When you obtain one of these goals you get XP. If you got all 7 goals for say Resistance you would gain an FPS level, and an Overall level. In otherwords every any goals gains you a level. You could get 6 goals in Resistance and one in OBLIVION. You would become a level 2, and you would be one goal away in any FPS not just resistance from becoming a level two "FPSer" and 6 goals away in any RPG from getting to level 2 in RPGs.

This is still a rough idea. Your level could like hang over your head in home, and give you access to new things as you get to higher levels. Seriously, any ideas?

My recent game expiriences

Well thanks to GameFly Ive been able to expirience a lot more games but I've real lazy about recording them here so here we go.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War

The game is fun but not revolutionary the battles can get intense but I felt that in terms of fun and story Ace Combat 5 and 4 were clear victors. Also It took me forever to beat the last damn mission. Uhhh.

 Ultimate SpiderMan

Ive had this game for a while don't actually remember how long. But I had a disk error on a certain part of one mission so I had to rent USM to get through that part. Now my copy should be fine for the rest of the game. Hopefully.;)

NBA Street Homecourt

Two words: fun, but...    It is fun and probably really fun if your playing a friend on the same TV but this game just seemed mediocre. So I didn't have the heart to finish it out.

Ultimate Alliance

I started pllaying it today, Its pretty much just at my house this week then I will return it so I can get a mobile game for my vacation. Just not sure which one to get yet. It is an interesting game but it seems over the top and the story has yet to suck me in. The problem for me is I am only one man. This is supposedly most fun when played as a 4-man co-op game.

Oblivion

I have been trying to get this game since it came out. I will be enjoying it tuesday. OH YEAH.

the little things

I have to say Sony is on the right track to getting themselves back in consumers good graces. An they're doing it by paying attention to some little, less talked about things. Unlike Microsoft they're not just talking about their upcoming huge title (Halo 3).

So here's what I'm talking about. PSN, Playstation Network, (sony's live arcade) Sony is doing things right. They are bringing in fun innovative games to the network, something microsoft has sort of ignored. Games like flow, calling all cars, and the upcoming pain, are new, original innovative ideas, at a low cost, on an accessible marketplace. They are also not forgeting the classics, bringing in hit PS1 (and others) games. But their hugest idea is not relying on normal distribution methods for their big franchises. The next SOCOM and Warhawk will be PSN titles. That is huge. Socom is arguably the most popular PS2 franchise out their and Sony is willing to put it up for download? AWESOME!

The second little thing is the PSP. This system has been on life support for months. It would be so easy, and probably justified, to either cut their losses and pull the plug or tuck it away in a corner and start working on a PSP2.  But no, Sony is not giving up on their sexy little portable. A good handful of games from Sony is coming to PSP, another SOCOM, God of War, and a second PSP Syphon Filter (the best game I've played on PSP) Along with Square Enix coming up with 3 final fantasy games on the system in the next year, and LucasArts bringing the next StarWars battle front exclusively to PSP. Sony might turn the PSP into a success. With the recent price drop along with all these factors Sony might be able to get the PSP into stable condition.

This week has been a real exciting for PS3 and PSP owners with all the news on new titles coming out. And personally I'm gettin real excited.

white noise

i just want yall to know that I'm still alive but there has been 0 news to get me excited.
