Everyone knows System Shock is the greatest FPS ever made. 8)

For serial, why does it matter who hates what? If you like the game, support the company, buy the game and keep playing it.

From what I've gathered, the ring of death is just inherent to the 360 -- it's likely to happen at some point. I'm planning on using the system until it dies and I can play the replacement game, or until MS offers a replacement chip for all systems to prevent the issue from happening again.

I think I'm set on the Vizio. I'll give it a rigorous workout for a month and if I hate it, I'll pony up for a nicer set.

Mancow, thanks and check your inbox. :)

What's the rumor that Walmart is selling stripped-down Vizios? Just a rumor? I don't have a Costco available...is there another major retailer that carries Vizio?

Guys, I appreciate the input, but I think you're missing the limits I have to conform to for a new tv (probably should have made them clear in the first post). Size, weight and price are all major considerations. My budget hovers around $450-$500 USD tops, my tv stand can only handle up to 150 lbs. (which probably rules out most CRTs), and I'd probably be happy with 26" - 32". I don't need plasma, I don't need 12 HDMI inputs, I don't need the most flawless picture available on the market. I'm sick of playing good games on my sh!tty 26" RCA CRT from 1995 and I just want a good starter HDTV. My little apartment won't become the entertainment hub in the tristate area, so please...no more 60" Sony WalletRape 5000 suggestions. :)

And I haven't played a lightgun game at home since the NES was the best system out there. :D

Anyway, please keep the suggestions coming. Any Vizio owners out there with 360s?

If that Olivia was maybe $50 cheaper, I'd hit it. :(

And the monitor looks all kinds of awesome, but I'd rather have a tv in case I can actually afford cable at some point.

I tried to get my AAA 10% coupon for Circuit City, but the site doesn't seem to work anymore to get it Though, on that page for the Olevia it says coupons can not be combined with the sale. But when I get home I'll check for some old coupon 10% codes I haven't used to see if it works, and that would take that extra $50 off. I hope it works.

Cool. I'd really appreciate that. Could I use that coupon in-store or arrange for a pickup? I guess I vo=could figure this stuff out on my own, huh?

Could any other Vizio owners chime in?

CNET gave it a 4.2/10, but it still may be decent. Read it here.Berserker_2

Ouch. Stuff like PiP I won't use and I can't stand an overly soft picture. It looks like the Vizios fared a little better. Hmm...

Like I said, the tv I'm using now is an ancient RCA thing that probably weighs as much as I do. Three words - simulated wood paneling. So no matter what I get, it'll be an upgrade. At the moment I can't afford a nice Sony or Sharp (as much as I love one) but I think even a Vizio will be fine for a long while. And hey, XBM has recommended the Vizio for a few months now (which is why I looked into it).
