dont buy garbage, i have 2 hdtv's both samsungs, a 1080p lcd and 720p plasma, both way better than that. dont buya bad brand like vizio, olevia or westinghousewwe_ownage

I can't afford plasma and it's going to be a stretch getting an LCD as it is. I'm only using it for gaming and movies, not all-day HDTV programs or big football games or anything. I'm sure your Sammys are better than the Vizio, but I think it's right for my budget and purpose. :idk:

I like my 32inch Olevia from Circuit City. At night I set it to dark room to improve the blacks. Suprisingly it looked great with the dark Bioshock demo.

How much was your Olevia?

I'm pretty sure I'll hit that 26" Vizio. I have an ancient RCA 26" CRT and I'm afraid I'll miss the sheer size compared to the widescreen.

Anyone else? I had a chance to check out the Vizios at Walmart and they look good, but I'm not used to the squashed widescreen thing. Also, just so I know...if a tv is advertised as supporting 1080i, will it support 720p as well?

I'm looking at this Samsung too...

That sounds like one hell of a game. :D

I'm mostly after Halo 3, RE5, Valve's Orange Box (oh yeah), and Bioshock.

Don't get that TV. Really bad. If you want a nice one at around that price, get this instead: http://www.vizio.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=24 It's native resolution is 1366 x 768 so even if it's advertised as 1080i, it's usually going to be a 768p (1366 x 768 ) or 720p (1280 x 720) TV. I would recommend setting it to: 720p (component cables)/1360 x 768 (VGA cables).Funkdaddy13

Are the Insignias really bad? I figured Best Buy's house brand of products would be better than Targe's or Wal-Mart's.

I was looking at the Vizios as well, but CRTs are better at reproducing blacks than LCDs are, right? That's my only concern. Well, that and the Insignia weighs 120 lbs.

Ok, so from what I've gathered, 720p would be better for my 360 because it displays motion more smoothly than 1080i. So if I'm looking at a HDTV with a max resolution of 1080i, like this one:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7600955&st=26%22+tube+hdtv&type=product&id=1130981752759

Can it display in 720p as well? Or do I need a Tv with a max resolution of 720p?
