Just playing some more Mercenaries...

Not much to say, just playing some more Mercenaries. I just captured to Jack of Hearts. It was a pretty straight forward mission, just go get him. The hard part was that he was in an area bathed in radiation and surrounded by tanks. I played it through, destroyed all the tanks, but when I got to the Jack he had died of radiation. Since I'm trying to capture all the cards alive, I loaded my last game and did it again. This time I went a lot faster and let the Chinese take out the tanks. I got into the radiation zone, but since the radiation constantly takes your health down I had to go fast. I ran right up to the Jack, subdued him, and then I had to go break a crate for some health. Then I shot 2 North Koreans out of a Jeep, put the Jack in it, and took off. I got out of the radiation zone, called for extraction, and got him out of there. Now I only got 1 number card left and then it's on to the Ace. After that all that will be left is the Spades and General Song. Well, I gotta go eat lunch. See you all.

Top 5 for 2004

It's a little late, but better late than never. Since I mainly play only the Xbox, the games I list will be Xbox titles. So let's get to it. (These are all games that I own or have played. Can't really talk about a game you haven't played, can you?)

5. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Running on walls, controlling time, cutting victims in half; who can't have fun doing that. The darker side of the Prince proved to be bloody, yet very fun. This time around you had to destroy the sands while being chased by a demon. This game was a little more challenging than the first one was, but that's what makes it even better. The storyline isn't as good as the first one was, but let's face it, sequels hardly ever are. Overall, I loved this game and don't regret for a second getting it.

4. Fable

Alright. Delayed forever, tons of hype, and great previews. So why do people hate it. It's too short. Yes, it is. But when play through doing all the side-quests and just explore the game, it is hours of fun and I don't see how people can hate it. Just as the box says, "Every coice, a consequence." This game throws everything little thing you do into consideration, and it also shows that nobody can be completely good or evil. I played through good, but I still found my self getting evil points for little things such as stealing (haha) or punching a guard. I absolutely loved this game and I hope they make a sequel (that is longer).

3. Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Flat out awesome. Very good story, though not as good as the first KOTOR, that grabs you and keeps you wanting to know more. Character customization was better this time, as was character development. Tons of new force powers and skills allowed for more complex and funner gameplay. My only down point is that it left you thinking that right when you were about to find out what happened to Revan the game was over. That sucked, and it only shows that they had better make a 3rd one to finish this great story.

2. Mercenaries

Maybe not in everyone's opinion, but for me this was a very close second. GTA military style, what could be funner? Hijacking helicopters 20 ft. in the air, gotta love it. Missions get repetitive sometimes, but so do the ones in GTA. Gameplay is very fun (except for the fact that they can't swim), and the problems of trying to keep every faction happy is also fun and challenging. I had been looking forward to this game for a very long time, and all I got to say is that it didn't let me down. (I know this was a 2005 game, but I have it now, so this list is kinda going off what I got now).

1. Halo 2

Let's face it. Contrary to what other people say, I think Halo 2 was absolutely awsome. It may not have lived up to the hype that people had for it, but take a look at what people were saying about it. There were rumors about features that Bungie never even considered putting in the game. And then there is the cliff-hanger. I know it mad a lot of people mad (myself included), but come on people. Bungie wanted to be that way, so I have no doubt in my mind that we will find out why they left us out to dry someday. Multiplayer (both live and not) is fantastic. Not only all the available features, but the gameplay alone is flat out fun. Overall, I knew it would be #1 before it came out, and no matter what, I will be playing it for a very long time.

2005 GOTY: Jade Empire

Questions, comments, rebuttal?

P.S. I tried putting the games pictures on there, but every time I submitted it they wouldn't appear. Anyone know why?

Kansas-Oklahoma State

Anybody catch the Kansas-Oklahoma State basketball game Sunday? OMG it was great. KU really needed that win after they had lost 3 straight. John Lucas (OSU) hadn't missed a shot all game and missed 2 in the final minute, and the entire OSU team hadn't missed a free throw until the last minute. That was huge. With KU up 2 and Lucas shooting a last second 3, I about crapped my pants. But he missed, KU won, and all is good in the world. If KU plays like that in the tournament, they got a great shot a the title.

Haven't played much of Mercenaries lately, but I have managed to capture about 5 of the Hearts. I don't think the Hearts are as hard as the Diamonds were, but I'm sure the Spades will be tough.

My day off...

What a great day. No school, just a fun filled day off TV and Xbox. I was playing Mercenaries this morning and I was going after the Ace of Dimonds. I screwed around at first and found my self in a lot of trouble at the end cause I had about 6 tanks pounding away at me. I finally got away and got everything done except capturing the Ace. I went and destroyed everything around him and then got him. I towed him to a secluded spot and set him down. I then went back to destroy a building so I could get a helicopter in and when I went to my menu of air strikes the game froze. I just stared wide -eyed at the screen stunned. It was a long mission and required a lot a strategic planning. I had to shut it off and restart. I played it again and this time got it done faster and it didn't freeze. That's my second suit of card down. All I have left are the Hearts and the Spades. I also got to the second map. Right after I saved it, I was in the MASH when 3 North Korean fighter helicopters came in and started leveling the area. I just barely got away.

P.S. For those who wanted to know, we lost our 2nd round district basketball game. It sucked. They had a kid who was shooting 3's over 25 feet out. They couldn't miss. But it was a good game and a great season. We'll be even better next year.

On to Round 2...

Last night was awsome. We played our first round district game (basketball) against a team who beat us once and we beat them once. We controlled from the beginning. We fast-breaked all night and they couldn't keep up. It was the most fun I've had in a game in a long time. Their crowd was so stunned that they lost. We won 73-69. It was the first time our guys team had one in the first round since 1998. Our next team is good, but we stand a very good chance to beat them too. Wish us luck.

Frailty

Did anybody see Frailty on SciFi last night? It was a wierd movie. It's about this dad who tells his two boys he had a vision from an angel that the end of the world was coming and that they were chosen to destroy the demons on Earth. Their "tools" are an axe, a pipe, and ducktape. They begin killing people, who the dad thinks are demons, but the older boy doesn't belive any of this. After countless murders, they dad tells the older boy he has to destroy the next demon. When the time comes, the boy actually kills his dad instead. He then goes to help the "demon" they captured when his little brother takes the axe and kills the guy. When they are grown up, the little boy still has visions from an angel and still destroys demons, and he even kills his brother. It was a really wierd movie and kinda messed up. Any thoughts from anyone?

Mercenaries

Well, I finished KOTOR II. It was an awsome game, but the you could see the ending coming from a mile away. I took OneSweetShannon's advice and got Mercenaries. AWSOME GAME. It's just like GTA, but military style. Hijacking helicopters is kinda hard, but you get the hang of it. And I love how you can not do any missions and still drive around and blow stuff up. I can already tell I'm gonna spend a ton of time with this game. I want to go play it right now (but I'm at school).

Almost done...

I'm almost done with KOTOR II. With sports going on I only get to play it a couple times a week and on weekends. I'm back in the palace on Onderon trying to stop the General from killing the Queen. Hopefully I can beat it this weekend. Next I think I'm gonna go buy either Mercenaries or LOZ: The Minish Cap, or maybe I'll get both. I'll just have to wait and see.

Patriots win.

Well, the stupid Patriots won and the Eagles yet again came up short. Both teams played well, and atleast it was a close game. TO played awsome. Coming of foot surgery, he had 10 catches for 100+ yards. Donovan had good numbers, but the 3 interceptions killed the Eagles. Did you know that he was sick. That might have been why he was making mistakes. So, who will win next years Super Bowl? Brett Farve and the Green Bay Packers over the Patriots.

Super Bowl XXXIX

Ok. Today is the biggest football game of the year. Pats and Eagles for Super Bowl XXXIX. Should be a really good game. I hope TO plays. I really want the Ealges to win, but the Pats have looked tough all year. Guess we'll find out tonight.
